Food was excellent the best chinese Ive had in a while, service was great. The only complaint was that the portion size was kinda small, so if you have a big appetite, it's not the best choice. Overall, it was a great place to eat.

I called to place a to go order and the person who answered the phone was clearly aggravated with my phone call. The food here is fantastic but I won't get to experience it today bc I wouldn't want to bother them by placing an order.

Recently ordered Takeout during my trip, it was my second time ordering from Boardwok. The staff is so friendly, the food is great and comes in a generous portion. The best part is they offer veggie dishes (perfect for non-meat eaters like me) and a doggie treat of boiled chicken and rice! Their dog treat side saved me on this trip because my travel-anxious pup was not interested in his regular food--Boardwok was a life-saver! Will order here every time I'm in town!

One of Hatteras Islands' best kept secrets. Local eatery that offers fresh Asian inspired cuisine with lots of homemade options. Fresh catch in season specials as well. Nightly specials as well, under $15.00. Dine in or carry out.

Is there a difference between rubber and sesame chicken? This restaurant has me questioning if there is one. I hope you have a good paying 9-5 when it's $15 for chicken with too much sauce and a $5 up-charge for fried rice instead of the below average white rice. The entree came with maybe half a cup of white rice and probably a pound of chicken. I wouldn't necessarily be mad about this ratio if the chicken was not over cooked and bland. We were checked on once after awkwardly getting our food delivered. I sat with an empty cup of water for about 15 mins before the waitress came over and asked if we were ready for the check while not even noticing my empty glass. We were also stared at a lady behind the bar who I can only presume to be the owner. The ambience was not terrible but definitely not good either. Not to mention, someone brought their dog in for a few minutes which did seem unsanitary and I am sure against North Carolina health code. I rarely leave reviews but I think everyone should be warned to under no circumstances visit Boardwok. If boardwok was the last restaurant left on earth I think I might eat a tree first.

I do like to give only positive reviews. This place came recommended from the campground. There were a few cars in the parking lot as we entered for an early dinner at 5:30. They open at 5:00. I wanted good, fresh seafood and vegetables. I got the panko scallops, hands down, fresh and tasty, fried to perfection! ($26) Scallops came with rice and steamed broccoli. Don't forget to ask for the spicy tartar. I also got the salad to start with their house asian vinaigrette. It was fresh and delicious, they even sell the bottled dressing on site. My husband got the general chicken and fried rice. It would be enough to share with an appetizer. The fried rice is a nice generous portion for additional $5 with the spicy sauce fried chicken. This isn't your typical Chinese take out establishment. We found the prices reasonably in line with the other places around town. I think we got the owner, not sure, he was pleasant and checked on us often. He even offered us dessert and told us the options. He was the only one waiting on tables and tending to people with their take out orders too. The locals were all at the bar by the time we were checking out. The place has four tables and a bar. Small establishment. We came in on a Monday. A couple of the other restaurants were not open, there's not a lot of options in that area. We were here on a long weekend and it was a nice dine in option for our last night here. Definitely recommend.

all the stir-fried vegetables are fresh. legit local place. NOT cheap chinese food or take out, if that is what you are looking for, this is NOT the place for you. Take the drive to Avon, 20 minutes south.

Overpriced food that’s not even close to basic level Chinese takeout. Egg rolls were nothing but cabbage and bits of mystery pork. Most egregious of all was the rice, which tasted like the parboiled stuff that comes out of a cardboard box. Very overpriced, even for the area.

Would give a 0 if I could. Have eaten here for many years but over time this place has gone down hill. Drive to Nags Head or Kitty Hawk for good service and better food. Otherwise you’ll have a and experience with subpar food.

We eat here about twice a month, it has always been the same. Delicious. No complaints. To Jessica's review...don't eat here, but recommends the fried rice :) Also, the menu is posted outside with prices.
