“I really can't say how this place is, we went by Sunday around 3:30 and they were closed. I was really disappointed, so many ppl told me they had great produce. If you are not going to be open on Sunday you need to change it online. Several other produces stands said they have been closing early on Sunday. But they don't open until 12:30 on Sunday. I will keep my 5 star rating until we go back to this one.”

“I drove 30 miles along I-40 to visit this place and I was not disappointed.I called ahead to see if they had raw Sourwood honey and the young man that answered the phone was so sweet to go check for me.Besides honey, I picked up their home-grown beef(definitely buying more), pork(good) and lamb(not tried yet but it looks wonderful). Many of their fresh produce was local grown and excellent. The asian pears were a delight, like a cross being a pear and an apple. The short drive off the interstate is scenic and well worth the trip.I can't think of anything I didn't fully enjoy that I purchased there. Going to make the trip in the early fall to enjoy it again. If you want a treat the small apple rhubarb pies are sinfully delicious.Thank you, Presnell's.”

“We are from Florence SC and we try to take a trip to Maggie Valley/Cherokee NC a couple times each year. Our trip is never complete without a stop at Old Gray Mare. The people are very nice and courteous. They have a little bit of everything in this store, fresh vegetables to boiled peanuts to homemade butter and breads. If you want it they probably have it! The building sits between Maggie and Cherokee. It has an old farmhouse feel to it. I absolutely recommend anyone traveling to or through this area to stop by and give Old Gray Mare a visit and see for yourself.”
