I have had bagels here before and they are decent, but this morning I ordered two eggs on a bagel and it is inedible. Tastes like silicone. They are either using a very cheap spray on the grill or the grill is filthy. I'd pay more for the sandwich if they would just use butter. Cheaper is not always better.

My everything bagel with cream cheese was good, but the customer service was not great. The staff I encountered when I visited was rude & very unwelcoming.

I love this place. I always get the chicken salad sandwich on a poppyseed bagel and it's excellent.

3-5 years ago this place and the other location in Austin village were at their prime. Since prices have more than doubled and the quality and quantity of food has remained the same or worsened I will not be returning. Over $20 for two people to eat without a drink is ridiculous when it used to be less than $10.

I ventured to Poppyseeds Bagels, a spot hailed by many as the zenith of bagel craftsmanship in Charlotte. The anticipation was palpable as I joined a modest queue of fellow bagel aficionados – a promising sign.Upon entering, I was greeted by a smorgasbord of pastries and a treasure trove of house-made cream cheeses, flaunting an array of tantalizing flavors. The chorus of orders for the Bacon, Egg, and Cheese sandwich echoed through the space, a testament to its local fame. However, I stayed true to my roots and chose the classic New York staple: an egg bagel (un-toasted, as any true bagel connoisseur would prefer) adorned with lox and cream cheese, accompanied by a pickle and a side of macaroni salad. While the bagel’s crust provided that quintessential New York-style crunch and chew, the filling left a bit to be desired. The cream cheese, shyly clinging to one side of the bagel, could have used a partner in crime on the other half. And the lox? Let’s just say a couple more slices wouldn’t have gone amiss in achieving that perfect briny balance. While this culinary experience was a nod to New York’s bagel legacy, it fell short of the high bar set by the legendary New York Old School Bagel & Deli, the undisputed champion in Charlotte’s bagel arena. Poppyseeds, with its commendable effort, earns the bronze in my personal bagel Olympics.Should fate lead me back to this corner of Charlotte, a return visit to Poppyseeds isn’t off the table. After all, the pursuit of the perfect bagel is a journey, not a destination.

They are always closed even when they say they are open. When they happen to be open (rarely) they often say that the oven is off or start cleaning around you and preparing to close even if they don’t close for around 3 more hours.

I had a sandwich on a roll, it was a little pricy but this is a fancy neighborhood. Pretty much the real deal.
