I'm not sure if you can just walk in and open an account, because it's a credit union. But if you can, this is a beautiful banking institution. I went in there just to make a payment on a friend's mortgage and it is very nice looking and the lady that helped me was extremely friendly and knowledgeable.

I have had amazing customer service, especially at this branch, up until today.
I don’t know if management has changed, policies have shifted, or the perspective regarding customer service has changed, but the service I received today was subpar.
I have not had to go into a bank since January of 2024, as generally online banking is more convenient overall.
I do generally use the drive though in Zebulon, but stopped and went into the Wendell branch because I was out running errands and figured I had a great experience last time, so why not.
I did approach politely and with grace, and continue to communicate in that manner unless I feel disregarded or disrespected, which I felt both today.
Maybe it was my clothes, my country accent, maybe I had RBF. Who knows.
What should have been a routine transfer of funds turned became an entire ordeal that resulted in the transfer being denied…at 4:49PM on a Friday. And they’re closed on the weekend (many banks are open til Noon on Saturday, which doesn’t benefit me because I work, but it is worth mentioning that they are not).
When I mentioned that it this poor timing sucks because it’s the end of the business day, the response was “well actually the end of the business day is 5:30, we’re open til then”. I let her know that I was about to get ready for dinner and lived 15 minutes away, so I’d stop by and get a certified check another time.
However, that visit will be paid to another branch, since the interactions I have had today and seeming unwillingness to break down the issue even when asked are very off putting.
Given that my funds are in the account, I am allowed to ask for detailed explanations and reasoning; I can’t correct an issue or understand the problem if the response is “the issue is exactly as I told you.” is the response.
However, I have always had very polite and competent service in the drive through at Zebulon, so perhaps they will be able to help me in future.
I also highly recommend the mortgage department at SECU, as the professionals in that division do provide thorough and prompt communication. Sometimes you do have to chase them for follow up, but generally they respond clearly and consistently.

Went into the branch and I'm assuming she was the main banker at the time. I was greeted with a "get up and c'mon". 1st red flag, then went into her office I asked if we could close the door for privacy (obvious reasons)she said no. 2nd red flag. She assumes I'm there for a loan but in fact was just trying to figure out a new payment plan on my current loan and was just incredibly rude. Don't know why or how she's working there but I will no longer be banking with secu after this interaction.

Went to apply for increase and the member rep (Tyson) was not very personable and fail to return my call when agreed. As a matter fact, did NOT return call even after a month! Contacted Assistant Bank Manager and she was NOT much help either. Customer service at this location needs lots of work!!

Just had an issue with a check from someone trying to scam me.I went to talk to the branch manager at the Wendell location and he was a little short and kinda made me feel as if I wanted to be scammed. The teller however was very helpful and professional even though I caused him alot of extra work.THANKS Daniel....you should have your bosses job,he was rude.
