3/8/24Walked in to do some shopping. And in order to get into the store I had to walk through a cloud of cigarette smoke as 4 employees were standing within 5 feet of the entrance, all lit up. Had my wife been with me it would have triggered her asthma to the point of needing her inhaler. As a former smoker it was triggering for me. But most importantly, it is the single worst first impression of customer service any business could ever present. Employees who have worked for me have been fired for exactly this reason. This is not something new.Teach your employees to be courteous. Because this sucks.

Rylan is the reason for this bad review. If I could give them zero stars I would. Rylan was terrible at customer service. I explained to him briefly that I need him to go ahead and make my transaction. Well he immediately turn away and instead of helping me. When my girl had already explained we were both doing the same thing before he had even started her transaction. So instead of him helping us like I asked him the woman at the register beside him needed help with a customer that was not his. And even tho he blew me off he still couldn’t help his co worker with what she needed. and instead of coming back to the register immediately he stepped back away from the register. And at that point I was super un happy with my service. I will be calling corporate tomorrow. Because that is unacceptable. He could’ve told her “just a minute let me finish helping them”. Because like I mentioned earlier. My girl had already let him know we were both there for the same thing. But someone needs to train him on customer service. There was literally no one in line after us. So we would’ve been on our way. It seem he had a bit of an attitude and intentionally had me waiting.

Prices are freaking crazy! Shelves are not stocked adequately. 1 register open and clueless individuals trying to figure out self checkout. IT IS VERY STRESSFUL TO EVEN ATTEMPT TO SHOP HERE

I have been coming to this food lion for a year and a half, most employees know me since I work in the same shopping center. I’ve never had a problem with anything or anyone in this store. I prefer self check out unless I see any of my favorite cashiers. Well I just left food lion, I had a cart full of groceries and went to self check out as I always do. Apparently a new grocery manager, by the name of Nolan Martin, thought since I used self check out with so many groceries I couldn’t possibly be able to afford my groceries and came up behind us after scanning some food lion brand ziplock bags, a $3 box, and put his hands on his hips and loudly said “oh, so we going to play this game today?” With a smile on his face. When we looked confused he smiled even bigger and said we didn’t scan our bags. Which I clearly pointed out in big letters on the screen in front of me said ‘FL slider bags’. Do you think he apologized? No. His only defense was he didn’t hear it beep. Personally, if I thought someone was intentionally not scanning items, I would first of all, make sure I’m not mistaken by looking at the screen and matching to items in the cart! Because if he had simply looked at the screen before embarrassing not only me and my fiancé, but my fiancés grandmother as well!!! I completely understand wanting to make sure nobody steals, but if your assumptions are wrong, be a decent human being and freaking apologize for embarrassing a very loyal customer! Being new, is absolutely no excuse. He kept a smile on his face the entire time, as if it was a game. I’ve never been so embarrassed and disrespected at this location and I do expect a response to this incident. It wouldn’t even be a problem had he treated the situation with more professionalism and respect, especially after realizing he was very wrong! Depending on how this is handled I’ll change my review, as I said, I’ve never had any issues with anything or anyone, and have always been treated with kindness and respect from all other employees except for Mr. Nolan Martin.

Went in there for first time and store was clean and employees friendly. The produce area was well stocked and better than any Food Lion I ever had been into plus the produce manager (think his name is Gino) was very helpful and courteous when I asked if they can provide bulk fruits for an upcoming event we are having.

Clean, average sized Food Lion. I wish they had more of the features of the larger stores (and HT, Lowes Foods, Publix, etc), but this is clearly one of the better Food Lions in the Greater Triad area. Any time I have come through here, the employees are always friendly and helpful. Lines are short to non-existent. To be fair I go when I know there is the least traffic in the store. Have not had to return any food. Stock is kept orderly, and is clearly managed by an experienced individual/management staff. I am VERY picky about which grocery stores I go to. I mean it's FOOD (THAT YOU EAT)... I have standards. This Food Lion location definitely meets those standards. Coming through the east side of Guilford County, this is easily accessible from the highway, and MANY other stores and services are all in one place around it.I took 1 star because they don't really have a great selection of ready to eat food. It is in a strip mall configuration, so expanding the store really isn't an option. The sq ft issue cannot be remedied, but I would encourage the management to up their game when it comes to catering to people who don't want fast food, but don't have time to cook. Healthy stuff, fresh stuff, heat-it-eat-it, etc. You would get a lot more lunch/dinner traffic from contractors and local businesses. Just my 2 cents.
