I have never experienced a more poorly run, rude, pretentious staff- specifically manager Giancarlo. Stay away at all costs!! And if you have pets try Arrive down the street- they know how to treat animals & humans.

Having stayed purely for the aesthetic (no shame), I loved it! If you love curated spaces/interesting decor, are looking for walkability around downtown Wilmington, it's a great choice. I chose our room specifically for the bathtub, and thoroughly enjoyed a long soak followed by sharing a bottle of wine on the wrap around front porch. The room-matching essential oil diffuser blends were a unique touch, and it was nice to start the day with coffee & avegan breakfast toasts/smoothies (bring your own cream if almond or coconut milk doesn't cut it for you!). I'd happily stay again! There is a vibe of being a houseguest without a host, as while the common spaces are beautiful, they felt a bit like a library, as we and the other guests we ran into seemed to tip toe around speaking in hushed voices, and not lingering. I'm completely fine with this, but I think it's worth knowing that it's a quiet, museum like home, not a concierge serviced hotel.

Artistic / stylish made the room looked very impressive and appreciated. But it may not always be practical to use them. My left foot had hit the bed frame when to walk through the corner of the bed, and my left knee got hit even harder the edge of bathtub when to step up into it, due to their unconventional design that I didn’t get used to. Also the setting of shower control was somewhat confusing, again due to its unusual design.

Beautiful historic home converted into a charming little bed and breakfast. Very friendly staff, and the cost was reasonable for the comfortable accommodations, delicious breakfast, and proximity to downtown.Nearby activities: Check out the Bellamy Mansion and Burgwin-Wright House nearby!Safety: Both the neighborhood and house itself felt very safe.Walkability: Just a few blocks walk to the historic area.

We had a nice stay in Wilmington, but the service at this B&B was disappointing. I don't expect a huge buffet at a B&B, but their "vegan breakfast" consisted of a community bowl of stale granola and room temperature orange wedges spread out on a plate.Check in was confusing. Nobody was there when we arrived and nobody answers the phone when you call them. After about a half hour somebody finally showed up and led us up to our room. The room was OK. Not great. The decor was funky and we liked that. The whole place has a really cool vibe. But the service is disappointing considering the premium cost. It's an old house so you know you have to put up with some limitations... but there was no individual climate control in our room so we were always either kinda hot or kinda chilly with no ability to adjust it. The shower/bathtub is an absolute hazard. Seriously. If you are not 6 feet or taller, it's hard to step over the high ledge to get into it. And once you do, it's slippery and there is nothing to hold onto if you lose your balance climbing into it. The beds are weird too. Not very comfortable and only like one foot off the ground on a small platform. They were perfect for little kids, but kind of strange for adults. Strange... For the price, I wish we had stayed somewhere more traditional. Probably the most frustrating part of the experience was that I left a USB drive in the room. My mistake of course. I emailed them and asked them to mail it to me. It's a tiny USB and would fit in a regular size envelope with a single stamp. They told they would mail it for a $20.00 fee. After spending over $1100.00 for a three night stay, I figured they would splurge on a 60 cent stamp to mail it to me. Hospitality ain't what it used to be. Wouldn't stay there again.

Everything was amazing. If you were looking for a laid-back, non-commercial, clean, and personal stay, this is the place! From the beautiful surroundings to the friendly staff, I have no complaints. I was with my daughter for a business meeting and the two nights we stayed were just lovely!

All in all I enjoyed my stay! The house is lovely and the details were nice. When I walked in I was welcomed with the calming smell of incense. The defused in me room sadly wasn’t working though and breakfast wasn’t ready till 8:30. Also felt like there could have been more for breakfast considering the price. There was only granola, fruit, and biscuits and VERY little jam.Walkability: The house is 4 blocks from the mail boardwalk down town. Only took me 10 minutes to walk to dinner!Noteworthy details: Parking was super easy once you get there! Orange street isn’t super busy at all.

A romatic place in a very nice neighbourhood, that's the positive side!We stayed 2 nights with 2 rooms for 1500$!One would expect a certain level of standard for this price, which was not the case unfortunately!Rooms nicely furnished, but a bit run down! Absolutely no space to place items in the bathroom. A soap provided which stinks and feel your skin like washed with lye!The breakfast is a joke, unless you are happy with the selection of 3 vegan options. You hardly see anybody from the staff, you get sms at 3pm though, in which you are asked whether they should clean up the room! Honestly? To get to your safe you need to climb on a chair, otherwise you will forget something in it! Just one AC for all the rooms, so you have to fight with other guests about the right setup. No fridge in the room.....As said, it's all a question of price and what you get. All in all overrated and underdelivered in many dimensions! The esoteric features like incense cones do not improve the mediocre experience!

This place is a must-stay! The house is so homey and the hosts are so welcoming and thoughtful. Our room was incredible! The bed is extremely comfy and the hosts have thought through everything that made our stay comfortable and memorable. The gardens around the property are magical and the breakfast/coffee was delicious! Thank you!

This was from top to bottom a truly unique and very cool surprise. The house is different in the best way, the people could not have been nicer, and the location is 2 blocks off my favorite restaurants, shops, and fun in Wilmington.I can't say enough about how happily surprised and one of a kind experience I had when wanted to just get away from the same 4 walls on the fly.Check them out! Even if the set up is for some reason not your style, you will absolutely meet some of the nicest young people who made it happen and created an original vision in town with unique history of it's own.WELL DONE DREAMERS!I WILL SEE YOU SOON!

Overall, I say that this is a really good place to stay while your in Wilmington. The price is very affordable and it's located right downtown.I would say that the service left much to be desired. The day before I got an email telling me that the code for my room would be the last 4 digits of my phone number. To my surprise, that was not the case. I would've been locked out if I didn't get the piece of paper with the correct code that was left inside the room. Also, it's really hard to get in contact with someone if you want to talk instead of text/email. Everytime I called the number I was met with a voice-mail message that told me to leave my name, phone number, and email. I would've preferred to talk to someone on the phone but even when I emailed that request, I was told that we could continue it over email. The emails were really helpful however, I would've just preferred to get it done in one phone call rather than several emails. They have a piece of paper that tells you to text them (the hotel staff) if you need something. I sent a text to them but I never got a response for it.Another thing that I didn't care for was that the room was really dark and it did not come with a mini fridge or microwave in suite. I had the deluxe queen room on the third floor and while the room itself was beautiful, it had very dim lighting. There was no ceiling light, only two lights in the corner and 2 EXTREMELY dim lights by the head of the bed. I almost needed a flashlight to see anything at night.Mini fridges and a microwave are located on the first floor so if you want a snack you have to go downstairs. I was on the third floor so I didn't want to go down, wait for my food to heat up, then go back to my room.Additionally, I don't believe that the rooms have their own AC. Because of that, my room was FREEZING at night and okay during the day. The floor felt like ice amd sleeping on the right side of the bed felt like a polar bear was constantly blowing down on me.The decor is very nice on the interior and front porch but the plants don't seem like they've been cared for. It looked overgrown so if that's what they were going do then it's very good. There's nothing behind the house though so don't bother going back thereI'll definitely go back since the problems weren't that large. I still enjoyed my time there and my favorite part was definitely the bathroom! Nice and spacious with hot water and great water pressure (my room did have an overhead waterfall shower so if you have curly/kinky hair be mindful of that)Rooms: Beautiful rooms. See review for full detailWalkability: It's right downtown. See review for full detail

Unacceptable and disappointing hospitality to say the least. The place looks nice at first. But the poor customer service and management overshadow that single factor. Speaking with customer service will leave you confused and they may not respond to your concerns for over a month. Once you take initiative to contact their customer service again, you may be redirected to a few different employees. If this happens to you, I wish you the best of luck in resolving your issue. Hopefully they’ll become more hospitable and understanding for your stay. I however would recommend looking for an establishment of higher caliber customer care. To put it simply, they do not seek to provide a quality service to their patrons or their spouses.

Great place we would gladly visit again. Charming neighborhood in the historic district with a convenient walk to the riverfront district for dinner. Place was very nicely renovated, clean, comfortable, the service was very good, and the price was a competitive good value versus area hotels. Vegan breakfast started our day off well.

Excellent hotel!! Such a unique place to stay with a great location near downtown Wilmington. I left something behind on accident and the staff held it for me until I could come pick it up. HONEST PEOPLE work at this hotel, and this is the place to stay!
