After purchasing Hunter Douglas silhouette shades, purchasing was easy, setting up zero 0% was simple, but once the installation was scheduled, the nightmare began. The installer Ethan Allen sent out botched everything he touched. Wrong measurements, not knowing how to install the shades, showing up daily to cause more damage and returns and re-dos. took numerous months. In the end, Hunter Douglas sent another installer. I wrote a bad review which the sales rep asked me to take down because her husband would use that against her. I did because I felt she was trying to help me. After finally sending out a rep from NY, I thought my troubles were behind me. I rarely opened the very expensive dual blinds in my bedroom, but one day I decided to do that and it’s completely off track and shredding. I contacted Ethan Allen four different times to speak to the manager, and I was told by one of the sales reps( per the manager Jennifer)to call Hunter Douglas myself. I did, and when I explained to them what was going on, they asked me if I was a dealer. I said no and they then instructed me to call Ethan Allen back again when I did, the manager was “conveniently“ out of the office, unavailable, or outside. I finally had to call Hunter Douglas back again and they had me contact Wilmington Shutters and blinds; what a relief to talk to a professional, they immediately sent someone out to inspect and my blinds will be remade and installed by a professional company. When I called Ethan Allen to get some paperwork for the blinds Jennifer’s last comment to me was let me know if there’s anything I can do to help you. She didn’t do anything to begin with, and as a manager of the store, she is a poor example of how to treat your customers. If Ethan Allen would look at the amount of items that I have purchased from them over the years, I think they would be astounded by the way I have been treated by the Ethan Allen on S. College St. I would highly recommend that you do not deal with Jennifer or her staff at the Ethan Allen store. Go to Raleigh if you need to purchase anything. They are much more accommodating.

I am a long-term customer going back 50 years and have purchased many pieces - many of which I still have. My latest purchase was 2 years ago (2021) when I bought a Townsend QS leather recliner. This piece of furniture cost $2700 on sale. 2 years later the dye from the leather headrest has discolored. Customer service refused to do anything stating I am out of warranty. I take excellent care of my furniture and have Ethan Allen leather chairs over 30 years old that still look like new. Ethan Allen is no longer a quality company, their products are overpriced, and customer service told me to get someone in to repair it at my own expense.

We've had mixed results with Ethan Allen furniture and the staff at this store. Over the years, we purchased a sofa and loveseat, a large sectional, a smaller sectional, and several smaller accessories. Overall, Ethan Allen (EA) quality is good as it should be for the premium price EA charges. Or at least, it WAS good. The small sectional with attached chaise with down-wrapped foam cushions in a chenille fabric is absolutely horrible. We could get a better looking piece by buying used furniture from a thrift store. The cushions and fabric are not holding up and are certainly not the EA quality that we were used to. We've tried to get EA to respond, and we went through their warranty process with no satisfaction. Finally, a designer came out to see the problem. She informed us that we needed to flip the cushions often and leave the zipper side with the tie-down tabs exposed. So, no high-quality, finished look while you are using the bottom-side of the cushions to make the fabric shift back per the designer's advice. We've never had to do that with our other EA furniture. We tried to explain that we were not happy with the quality of this one piece, and she said that she wouldn't continue helping us "while we trash talked our furniture". We weren't complaining about her. We were complaining about this particular EA piece. The designer never asked how EA could make this situation right.Update 2/21/23: We did hear from Ethan Allen this morning, and EA has committed to remake the cushions on our small sectional. It was certainly refreshing to hear so quickly from someone at EA who can help us solve this issue. We're glad to know that EA does hear and respond to customer concerns. So, 3 stars for now until the final product displays the same high quality from EA that we've enjoyed over the years.Update 4/07/23: As promised by Ethan Allen in February, EA just replaced the cushions on our sectional. The sofa LOOKS GREAT now! Although it was a long process to get EA's attention to our issue, Ethan Allen followed through and delivered on the quality that we have come to expect from EA. We will definitely consider buying from EA again.

We are in the process of buying new furniture and our last couch (30 years ago) was Ethan Allen. We've been to discount stores and seen how they are made and I guess the saying "you get what you pay for" really holds up here.

Loved our sales/decorator Ashley, however table came scratched and they wouldn’t accept it was their fault, from the first week it was delivered. Then they reordered the table and suggested we buy the $500 table pad. We did and they both arrived totally damaged again. Very frustrated and tired of waiting!

I worked with Jeanne Gillespie on my new living room. She was wonderful to work with and really helped me integrate some of my old, special pieces that I didn’t want to part with and new Ethan Allen pieces!

Furnishing a new home can be a challenge, but my designer at the Wilmington Ethan Allen, Ashley Rivers, has made it a pleasure. Ashley has taken the time and effort to learn my preferences and works with me to achieve a cohesive and comfortable environment in my new home. She has been responsive and professional in our encounters and I highly recommend her.

It was a pleasure working with Ashley Rivers! Her design sense is wonderful, and — more importantly — her willingness to go above and beyond for us made our experience better than we could have imagined. We will gladly suggest her to our friends.

Jeanne, our designer, was great. She came to our home and listened to what we were looking for. Waiting for our items to be delivered. Don't hesitate to ask for Jeanne!

What a wonderful shopping experience. Ashley and Jennifer (manager) provided me with outstanding customer service! I was very particular in my furniture selections and came into the store many times before I made a final purchase decision. Ashley was so knowledgeable and patient with me. She understood that this was a important purchase and did not pressure me to make a quick purchase. I highly recommend working with Ashley. Very responsive to calls and texts. Jennifer as manager of the store is supportive of her staff and customers. The store has a positive and cheerful environment, and of course beautifully decorated, under her leadership.

Bring your wallet. But at this store you are getting quality furniture. Not partical board junk that falls apart after 6months. Highly recommend

Jeannie Gillespie was a pleasure to work with. I bought two 78 inch leather sofas and custom fabric accent pillows. My furniture is beautiful.
