Katrina Knight, the executive director, was extremely rude. I applied for the case management position on indeed on 4/26/23. I called a couple of days later to check the status of my application and got no reply. I called again today, 6/2/23. I left a voicemail with Katrina, again asking about the status of my application. She called back a couple of hours later and stated that since I called twice I “didn’t understand how non-profits work” and told me that my enthusiasm was “too much.” She then implied that I would not be patient enough for the hiring process. I currently work for a non-profit organization in Asheville, NC and have for 6 months. I found her behavior to be very unprofessional and condescending. Someone working for the community and supposed to be in such a caring role should not behave the way she did towards me.

Didn't have any beds. At day shelter the patrons completely ignore instructions given by staff

I am extremely impressed with Good Shepherd's House and the work they do to support our community. Their mission to provide food, shelter, and support services to individuals and families in need is truly inspiring. The staff and volunteers are passionate and dedicated to their work, and they go above and beyond to make a positive impact in the lives of those they serve. The shelter is clean, safe, and welcoming, and the meals they provide are delicious and nutritious. I appreciate the various programs and resources they offer to help people get back on their feet and achieve self-sufficiency. Good Shepherd's House is a shining example of a non-profit organization that truly cares about the well-being of the community, and I would highly recommend supporting their mission in any way you can.

I used to live at the Good Shepherd. Good meals were provided along with a clean place to stay. Some of the staff were nice and helpful especially the social worker Joe! He advised me on what to do to get housing and I'm so grateful for that. Some of the staff were not so nice, especially a man named Tim. He no longer works there praise God but works at Walmart now and I feel bad for anyone that has to work with him. May God have mercy on his soul!

Mother Hubbard Cupboard and Good Shepherd work together to feed the hungry in our area. Since Good Shepherd serves hot meals and Mother Hubbard's bridges the gap in people's pantries and refrigerators, we often exchange foods that work best for each mission. We are thankful for our ongoing relationship - keep up the good fight!

Clean place to stay. Keep in mind homeless is a business so don't expect help finding housing. I personally found out the hard way they (tiger) had me fill out applications and never turn them in, causing me to loose section 8 voucher. I feel it's all about head count to them. Do not tell them your options cause they all seem to disappear afterwards.

This place has for years crafted the art off making money it like well oil machine K.Knight and the Mansfeld has been fatten they pockets for years . Husband and Wife ,Son and his girlfriend and friends get high pay and permanent positions and everyone one else gets low pay and under forty Hours per week . K.Knight has become well off. Because of this place. It not about helping people it a front for the real makeup reports every month and untruth reports for grants. This is a nonprofit organization but Wife, husband, son, can all profit of this place .I work for this place I see it everyday day. They need people and churches who all get they hefty tax breaks . This place is the great scam artist. Anyone who really want to investigate will find out. K.Knight is a master at her craft...And yes they are a very racist group of people i have see it many times. No one looks because they gets away with doing it because it a shelters everyone thinks they helping homeless people. It a nonprofit organization and they are rules for nonprofit organization but these people are very good at they scams. K.Knight is a very good actor......

Absolutely horrible I don't know who wrote the good reviews. But when I stayed at this place last month. I had a terrible experience. And I heard recently they just kicked out a Navy veteran. They're supposed to be a Christian based homeless shelter. There's nothing Christian about this place. But they are privately owned so keep that in mind and also let this be a last resort if you have nowhere to stay such as friends or family. It seems to me they're nothing but trouble makers

I volunteered for a year at the Good Shepherd Center night shelter a few years ago. I enjoyed it so much! The staff were wonderful the guests were wonderful. I had an awesome experience. I would recommend volunteering at the Good Shepherd to anyone who would like to work with homeless individuals and families.

Unprofessional staff. Absolutely no compassion for the homeless community whatever. They DO NOT help people there and are only out for themselves. You're better off on the street. The social workers there are obviously untrained and also not helpful to the guests hardly at all.I see the male eating more than helping anyone. They also feel the need to punish the guests often. By taking clothes or priveledg s away . Not sure why. I think it's a way of feeling control. Which is pathetic. Again, if you don't love what you do. You shouldn't be in that environment.

During a very tough time considering the Covid-19 pandemic I had the very good fortune of having the help of The Good Sheppard Shelter right here in Wilmington. Having pnuemonia at this trying moment I found this organization instumental in overcoming my illness. Not only did they make sure I had safe housing by getting me a motel room, they also made sure there was plenty of foods to eat. Not having the financial resources to obtain these on my own, The Good Sheppard, as well as the Eastersesls Organization, has helped me and many others maintain a clean, safe environment while staying, also clean and sober from drugs and alcohol. I feel tremendously indebted to The Good Sheppard for all of its help and wanted to let the Wilmingto Community know just how essential this organization is and want all of you to know THEY ARE REALLY DOING SOMETHING TO SAVE LIVES AND INSURE. THAT PEOPLE, HOMELESS OR NOT, ARE STAYING SAFE DURING THIS COVID-19 PANDEMIC!Humbly, David Peck
