So nice there. Everyone is so friendly, didn't have to wait in exam room long at all. Very thorough. So clean everywhere. Just a really nice environment. I highly recommend them.

I love this Vet! Everyone is so nice and I feel like my pets always get the best care. Shout out to Dr. Anderson -- she came in when she wasn't scheduled when I was desperate for end of life care for my cat, Maribou. I'm forever grateful for her compassion.

I absolutely love the staff here. They were amazing when I had my French Bulldog for 11.5 years, and now they are fabulous with the 2 year old Blue Nose Pit Bull we just adopted who has heartworm.I Highly recommend this vet.

Dr. Highsmith was so gentle and thorough examining my senior cat. Have never been disappointed by any provider or staff member there.

Highsmith is the best animal hospital I’ve ever been to, and I’ve been to a lot. The crew is amazing. They’re so friendly, caring, and helpful. I’ve brought both my fur babies here, and they’re always in good hands. Dr. Anderson is the best. It’s very rare, but they’re so reasonable priced. The best!

If I could give 10 stars I would! I have lived in Wilmington for a couple of years and have seen various vets. I bounced around due to being very disappointed in the quality of care and lack of knowledge in the other vet offices in town. After my first visit at Highsmith I felt like I finally found a vet I could depend on! The whole staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable! Not only did Dr. Highsmith take his time when examining my dog, but he gave me in depth explanations and even printed out medication information for me to take home with me. I took my dog Nova for her monthly allergy shot today and Dr. Highsmith and his technician gave her the same high level of care as the first day. He also took his time to help me find the best option for a specific eye drop she needed. I can't recommend this place enough! Not only do I enjoy getting to interact with the whole crew at Highsmith but I also completely trust each one of them

Will be filing charges with the licensing agency and have contacted the Animal Control office over the egregious behavior of this veterinarian. The manger Rebecca was trying to cover their tracks because of how violent this Vet was with our animal. Dr. Speck slammed our dog with my wife against the wall with her knees. Our dog is a rescue who is extremely nervous at the vet. Resorted to nothing but violence with our animal.Dr. Speck literally stated to my wife, and I quote “Animals like yours are the reason I am retiring” speaking about an animal who is extremely nervous at the vet. What a professional team we have here. When Rebecca defend the doctor she stated “Dr. Speck is known to be blunt and direct” does this include the violent act?

I've only ever had good things to say about Highsmith Animal Hospital I love Dr. Anderson as she has been nothing but helpful and kind through all my battles with Duke, but I am EXTREMELY disappointed in how they handled getting me my items for my dogs cremation. 1. No one called to let me know he was ready to be picked up. I called this morning to double check since they said it would be Monday or Tuesday and I hadn't heard anything yet. I was trying to find out what time I could go pick him up or if they knew when he would be ready to be picked up and he apparently had been there. Yet there was no call made. 2. We specifically asked for my dogs print to be on a piece of paper as well as the clay. We were told this would be done. I was trying to do it myself and it wasn't working out the way I wanted which is why we asked them to please make sure this was done. I picked up my dogs ashes today. While I appreciate the nice box, the clay print and the hair, I wanted the print on paper for specific reasons. They dropped a MAJOR ball on this one. I would have continued to try to get his print myself at home had I known they wouldn't fulfill what we asked them to do and what they said they would do. I used to recommend this vet to everyone I knew and didn't know that had a pet. But this is something that was extremely important to me. I can't bring the dog back to life to get it. The cremation place said they would have been more than happy to fulfill the request if THE VET'S OFFICE would have put it in the notes which they DID NOT DO. Disappointed and completely heartbroken is an understatement.

Omg I know I’m being this helicopter mommy. But yeah. So Highsmith animal hospital gave her fluids and a injection for nausea and a can of palatable food for her to eat. Checked her temp her lungs her heart and gums. They didn’t charge me another cent!!!! I love them. They really care about their patients and it’s not all money driven like many local animal’s hospitals/ vets.So unlike Leland animal hospital which is all about the money and Brunswick which is the same with inferior care and big dollar demands. All of the professionals at Highsmith animal hospital are truly about living you babies and caring for them as much as you do!! ???

Been going here for almost 20 years. A little pricey (like most vets seem to be) but the staff is terrific. The veterinarians all truly love animals, and treat yours like their own!
