Both Google and the sign on the door said OPEN. We were visiting the children’s Musuem because we are from out of state. Decided to stop at an antique store while in the area and I decided to come to this one in hopes there would also be a kitty cat to love while there. Regardless of google AND their own door saying OPEN, the store wasn’t open and the lights were off. Couldn’t give you an actual review of the store because of this, but definitely shows me how it would’ve been given the letdown of being told multiple places that it was open only to discover it wasn’t. What a bummer.

Owner is out of his mind on prices for things that are incomplete or junk. Dirty and unorganized. If it’s priced it’s on high end. Asked him about a beat up table missing drawers and in serious need of help. This was a junky end table worth at most 5 bucks. He wanted 50 with no negotiation saying a part of it might be somewhere in store. No fairness here. A rip off

Traveled 2hrs to Wilmington for an estate sale and stopped by 3-4 Antique stores In the area afterwards. All were great except Michael Moores. Upon entering the store, I immediately spotted some Blue Ridge pottery that I was interested in purchasing. They were stacked on top of a flimsy, plastic display that could only be accessed through the front display window setup. I asked the older lady at the counter if I could step up to get them and she was very short and terse. She proceeded to walk over and step up in the display window and almost fell herself, nearly knocking over fragile items, while telling me it was a safety issue for customers to step up there. Ok…so make your items accessible on the main floor…DUH! She handed me a dish claiming to be Blue Ridge pottery that was stamped made in China. I informed her that it wasn’t BRP and noted the China marking. Her response was, “well I dont know where BRP is made…umm ok…self-explanatory especially if you work in an antique store! After, picking out several items, I came to one that didn’t have a price. I took it to the counter and she said she would have to call the owner for pricing. He didn’t answer so she texted him. During this time I asked to use the restroom which was sitting wide-open to which she replied “you can not use the restroom…it’s old and the owner doesn’t allow people to use it bc it’s a safety issue…if it breaks then we will have to close the store. There is a restaurant 2 blocks down they have to let you use it bc they serve food” Ok lady…if my butt is not good enough to squat over y’all’s toilet then your bank account isn’t worthy of my money. Very rude. Store is poorly set up and most items are not displayed well. Looks more like a episode of Hoarders inside. Even the lady who works there can barely get through walkways without knocking things over. None of the other local antique stores were like this. Plentiful parking out front on the street…probably because of the lack of knowledge, manners and southern hospitality.

Asked to buy a set of 3 yellow glasses. The cashier called the shop owner I believe. Shop owner was extremely rude over the phone to the cashier saying it was a set of 7. There were no other glasses matching that color. Just because the pattern on the glasses is the same doesn't mean that's a set. I don't care about blue or amber glasses. They don't match my decor. Why would I buy those? I offered to buy the 3 for $30 and the owner was rude on the phone. Lost sale on his part.

While this place has plenty nice items, unfortunately the older woman at the register was a total buzz kill. When I initially entered the store, there was a display of chandelier pieces in various shapes and colors. I picked one up & noticed it's weight, so I asked her if they were indeed glass. Her response, "Are you serious...(long pause)...of course they are, Michael only buys antiques" At this point I'm thinking, okay she is unique. And continue shopping. I place the 5 pieces I picked up on the counter and continue in the shop. I notice the cashier is trailing behind me, pretending she is feeding the large grey cat, but without any food in her hand. Weird. I find this nice blue & white vase to add to my collection on a bottom shelf & proceed around the store & ultimately to the checkout. The lady is still trailing behind me by the way by at a short distance. I get to the register and noticed she has returned to the first table I stopped at and is "counting" the items with her finger. She sees me at the counter & says, "oh there it is". Im like "excuse me?" She says, " I was looking for that vase, it's one of my favorites. You know I'm working on a display and that would be perfect for it" Insert eye roll and various curse words. I politely sat that vase on the counter, along with the other items I had previously sat there and explained to her that it would continue to be her "favorite item" because I would not be purchasing it or anything from this place. I think the owner should hire someone with culture, personality and class, not an old woman with outdated views who is rude and harrases people of color.

I really loved the cat that just chills out here. This place has sooo many items in such a small space. I am not an antique person so I don't really know what goes on in these stores but the staff were nice, and they had a lot of different types of things from furniture to clothing. It was very interesting looking at some of the old artwork and silverware.

What a treasure this shop is! It’s filled with interesting items and there are always new finds. Mr. Moore is as nice as can be and very knowledgeable about antique items. If you’re visiting Wilmington this is a must stop antique store!

I had a lovely experience shopping here. I brought my teenage son and we both felt welcomed. This store had so much to share that we need to come back. The shop manager was extremely kind and atentative. Kindness matters and I felt welcomed.
