This is a strange review. Why? The overall rating is higher than the individual segment. Why? The beef tartare! The STAR of the night. The lemon puree brightened the dish and married the flavors of the pickled fennel, black garlic aioli, capers, and smoked trout roe. The beet tartare was also a treat. The candied pecans played well with dill sour cream and apple vinaigrette the mustard and capers brought a briny flavor that leveled out the sweet notes, but the smoked goat cheese brought them all together. The oysters were interesting, with vodka sauce parmesan bread crumb. The Blackened Shrimp & Grit Grits lead creamy stone ground grits. The seared greens tasted as though they were blanched before they were seared. The ratio of celery root and sunchokes to shrimp was more on the veggies side. I ordered a side of black eyed peas and collards. The collards were cooked well. I like a more vinegary collard. There was a sweetness that looked to level off the vinegar taste. The sweet was a little much for me. The black eyed peas were fresh and bright. I like mine cooked a little longer, but you could taste the farm to table on these. The sides came out at the end of completing my entree, which was not ideal. The server seemed nervous at the beginning of the service. Warmed up towards the middle and got swamped with tables at the end of our service. My wife had the pork chop, i didn’t try it. I knew better. She didn’t offer like she usually does? The seating was tighter than my liking, but the parties closest were very considerate, we all keep or volume down.Vegetarian options: Lions mane steak & beet tarts, butternut hummus

The service was excellent. Wine and beer selection was fantastic. I had the grouper and it was amazing. One of the best meals I have ever had. PinPoint is a true gem. I highly recommend.

Went here on a random Sunday night for date night. It was wonderful! The food was tasty and the staff was friendly. My boyfriend had the shrimp and grits and I had the changin ways fried chicken. We went around 7pm and it was empty to my surprise. This place deserves to be packed every night!

Service was unparalleled. We were offered certain fine touches that made us feel very special and important The food was a perfect hit on every dish and we tried it all! It was my son's birthday so we were in for the cost but the overall value, between the food and the service made it all well worth it. I highly recommend this restaurant as you will likely not find a place more attune to proper hospitality and genuine delivery of top product than here!

Great service to match the food. Our server was a perfect mix of attentiveness and no rush for us, so we dined. Our wine was delicious, the starter bread divine, and the meals we chose were wonderful. We enjoyed one each of the simple little $3 desserts, which topped off our meal without making us too full.

Our second time to Pinpoint. Food was interesting and delicious. A decent wine list. Service was not as good as previous. We started with a dozen oysters and knowing what we wanted, put our entree order in at the same time. Waiter said he would have them delay prep for time to enjoy the oysters. Entrees came out almost immediately upon finishing the oysters. Preferred to have time before feeling rushed to start the entrees before they cooled. Enjoyed sitting at the bar while waiting for our table (we were early). Bartender's very professional.

Service was very slow... we had to search for a waiter just for water. Ambience is lacking. Cocktails were the highlight. The menu is limited in gluten free options, and they were sold out of several options.

We heard outstanding things about PinPoint, but it didn't meet our expectations. Although the quality of the ingredients and the taste of the food is terrific, the portions are too small. If you are hungry, don't expect to leave with a full stomach. My drink (the Cosmonaut) was gone after just five small sips. If you're seeking to spend a lot of money on a nice dinner in downtown Wilmington, you may as well go to Tarantelli's or Manna.

We now understand why friends raved about their dining experience at PinPoint. Wow! This is definitely the place to go for a superb, creative dinner. From cocktails to dessert, this was an evening to remember. PinPoint is now our favorite restaurant in Wilmington, a city with a lot of good restaurants. PinPoint isn't good, it is exceptional!

We have eaten at PinPoint several times. This was the best ever! Everything about the evening was exceptional. The Bakes Oysters were excellent. My wife had the chicken and I had scallops. Wonderful. The apple fritters and Port were great. Drinks were exceptional as well. Our server highlighted a truly wonderful experience.

Very expensive for very little quality. We had beet salad that was bland. My boyfriend had the beef bolognese which he said was terrible. I had the mushroom steak for $30 and it was ok but there were more potatoes than mushroom. $17 for an old fashioned which was really just a shot with a lot of ice. Usually enjoy farm to table but there goes $140 down the drain.
