I’m writing this review a year after purchasing my Tahoe, rather than just a couple of weeks after buying it. It’s important to wait because, at first, everything might seem fine, and it’s easy to leave a positive review too quickly. However, as the months passed, the problems with this vehicle started piling up, and I realized just how bad the situation was.
The Tahoe has cost me thousands of dollars in repairs—blown head gaskets, radiator leaks, faulty oil sensors, suspension issues, and leaks in the roof that were dismissed as “cleaning water” by the dealer. These problems didn’t show up immediately, but they became unavoidable over time. I strongly believe the seller Austin knew there were major issues with the vehicle but was just trying to get the sale and not disclose what he knew.
When I first picked up the vehicle, I should have known something was off. Despite being promised a full tank of gas after driving 2.5 hours to pick it up, I arrived to find less than a quarter tank. The dealer brushed it off, saying he “forgot.” It was a small sign of the bigger issues I would later face.
This is a cautionary tale: don’t rush to leave a review right after buying a vehicle. Take your time to see how it holds up, and if you choose to buy from this seller, get a thorough inspection by a trusted third-party mechanic first. I cannot recommend this dealership based on my experience.
Lastly, i know the reply to this review will be “I told you to get the 3rd party insurance” and I was told to get the 3rd party insurance for any issues after the sale is finalized, but that would not have helped me due to the fact these were issues well there before I bought the vehicle and that is a provable fact with how much was wrong with it and the order of it happening in. That stuff don’t happen a week or 2 after I get the car, so that would not have helped me out.
I hope this doesn’t happen to anyone else. Be careful

Please do a carfax on any vehicle from this location before making purchase. We are stuck with a vehicle we purchased from this location that was involved in a odometer rollback from a previous vendor that auctioned to Down East.

Austin helped my son thru the beginning process of buying his first car. He was professional & informative with financing options. My son was able to get financing which took way too long & we kept Austin informed thru that process. On the day of pick up Brian help him finalize the paperwork & was easy to deal with. Excellent work guy & when it's time to get another vehicle will definitely work with them again. Thank you so much guys for all your help. This mom is happy!

I recently bought a vehicle from Downeast auto they not only made the process easy, but were very helpful and friendly. The mechanic Brian was also super helpful with answering any questions that we had about the vehicle at 10 out of 10 recommend yall at least go see what they got. I will definitely be back.
