Excellent products here, especially the ones with Kirkland brand. I put 4 stars due to the lack of technology on their website and checkout. Lines are long and the self checkout is not a fun process, most of the item we buy here are large and they make you take everything out of the shopping cart in order to scan them! Way behind Sam's on this part.

Memberships/Returns: Had a great experience here when getting my new card. Quick service, friendly workers, and very knowledgable. Never had to return anything but I have never seen a very long line at memberships. Gas: Probably one of the smallest Costco gas stations I've ever seen, but I've never had to wait more than 5-10 minutes even on a very busy day. There are workers walking around to make sure everything working fine and guiding traffic as needed. Also seen workers help some elderly people or people who aren't too tech savvy which is very nice. Food court: One of my FAVORITE parts of Costco, nothing can beat that $1.50 hot dog and soda. Chicken bake is also great and flavorful but can sometimes be salty, and the soft serve is also great. Love that they have self-order kiosk (card only) which has made the process so much faster. Actual wholesale: Honestly a very normal Costco with a huge parking lot. Very big but great layout, easy to navigate, obvious whats on sale and isn't on sale. Samples here and there. Checkout can be brutal on busy days but since they introduced self-check outs for less than 20 items it's been a lot faster. Overall no real complaints.

Winston Salem NEEDS another Costco. There is no sense that after all these years, they have not opened another location giving that Costco here stays slammed no matter the time or day. You can’t stir them with a stick. And you can’t look at anything without being in a rush. When they do samples, you better watch out because people will knock you down. I have been with Costco since they first opened over 20 years ago. Unfortunately, due to the constant aggravation of dealing with too many customers, long lines to check out and an even longer line to get out the door, we will not be renewing our membership. We will go to Mooresville at BJs. Sorry Costco, but another location would be very beneficial for Winston. Until then, we will not be back. Picture is of today, Tuesday at 10:50

This location was pretty good. The employees were nice and helpful and the restroom was clean. I successfully used the self-checkout too. They had some tempting samples, but I passed on them because they weren't organic. I usually don't eat samples anyway. I don't want food in my teeth and I always shop with a list. I craved organic blueberries, but they didn't have them. I even braved the freezer, but ended up with organic salad. They had organic raspberries and organic bananas though and I almost bought their organic mangoes. I was surprised that they had organic wine and that it was inexpensive. It wasn't the brand that Costcos typically carry when they carry it, but they had a cab and a white wine. They also had organic pumpkin seeds and organic cashews. I bought their manuka honey because it was $30 for a pound and it has a MGO 263+ rating. I was stoked that they had organic noodles. In fact, I am going to make some right now. I didn't see Amy's organic soup, but I might have overlooked it. I didn't want to lug around cans anyway. The self-checkout stand required an ID check by an employee twice (once for each bottle of wine), so I had to flag one down and wait a minute because he was busy. He didn't ask me to show it to him though. If you're in a hurry and buying beer, wine, alcoholic, etc. you may want to save time and use the regular checkout because self-checkout will delay you.

Let me say I am posting this review treating Costco as a dinner spot and I will mention things we consider winners. Buy these things again and again - some nights you don't want to cook but you also don't want to go out - boom Costco - multiple meals covered. - street taco tray - requires some heating but could eat cold $15-17 - shepard's pie - hour in the oven - feeds like 4-6 - $18 - chicken pie - 90 minutes in oven - feed - 4-6 $20 - broccoli soup - just need heated on stove top - 2 containers - long shelf life - feeds 3 per container - pizza by slice - $1.99 per slice - value - soft serve vanilla - $1.99 - to die for - shrimp salad - container - like seafood salad but shrimp - $7-10 depending on weight - yum - muffins - 12 muffins - 2 for $8

I recently had surgery on my foot and am confined to crutches. The fuel station attendant cheerfully filled my tank and the front-of-house manager also went in (after getting my membership card and payment from the parking lot), got a bag of dog food, and brought it to my car, and kindly loaded it in the back seat for me. Oh, how I do love the exceptional service and kindness of Costco personnel. It rivals anything I have ever experienced. I'm a member for life! I--and my almost-hungry lab retriever--are beyond grateful.

I always enjoy shopping this location. I've never had issues finding a parking spot and although they are busy you move around the store easily and there is a short wait at checkout. They carry a lot of organic options which is always my preference. Prices on organic produce is much better than in the grocery stores. Gas price is around $.20/gallon cheaper which accounts for a long wait at their pumps. While not all items are a notable savings, the deals make the membership price work for us....especially if you are close enough to shop there on a regular basis.

I've been a Costco member for 2 years now and I'm never turning back! The value and customer service at the Winston location is unmatched by other wholesale clubs. Even during the COVID pandemic I was able to get toilet paper and paper towels at this location, as well as a huge slice of pizza at the food court. Don't sleep on their bakery section, I love to pick up a pack of their muffins and freeze them, no way I could eat them all in a week as they are HUGE. Some other favorites of mine at Costco include the frozen cream puffs, spinach and artichoke dip as well as the Kirkland signature gummy vitamins. Although this store is huge and overwhelming inside, I've never had an issue getting in and out in a timely manner with help from the great staff that works there.

I recommend Costco but NOT THE PHARMACY. They continously screw up prescriptions. I am a big time customer of costco and also the same at the pharmacy. I have now moved my medications to another pharmacy even though I pay a little more. Costco Pharmacy is horrible. people are nice just screw things up alot.

I like Costco. But I'm not wearing a mask again. Especially when your employees are touching all of the receipts to leave. You strain at a knat and swallow a camel. Ridiculous. I KNOW how to take care of myself.

I enjoy shopping at Costco for many reasons, the selections, pricing, offerings to name a few. Download the app or check website for even better discounts.

I've been a fan of Costco for years. I've been to over a dozen including the two in our local area (Triad). The Costco in Winston Salem is definitely the highest quality and highest standard store we've been in yet. When you walk in the warehouse is always neat, organized, well stocked, clean and most of all the employees are friendly and helpful. To avoid the crowds on the weekend we always shop during the weekdays and never have any trouble getting through the isles or getting through the checkout line; Saturday and Sundays are only a must have to shopping day. In general the stores are quite a bit cleaner than Sam's and although the prices are comparable on most items we still feel that Costco is a better organized shopping experience. If you like to barbecue then the meat selection at Costco is right up your alley because the cuts of steak, pork shoulder, chicken are thick and plentiful; ready for a nice day of grilling. With the current rate of inflation a lot of stores are upping their meat prices quite a bit, Costco is the same yet it seems their prices are rising slower because they have their volume discount buying and although you have a lot more quantity and need to find freezer or refrigerator space you still end up with a lower price per pound.

I used to love Costco and spent a LOT of money there, typically went at least twice a month and had a FULL cart of grocery items. The customer service was always great. However, the last time I went, they were transitioning over to making the customers do their own self check out which I really don't like. Especially with a full cart. There were only two full service lines available and employees standing around watching. Not good. If that continues, I won't be back.
