If I could I would give the customer service people 5 stars. I had a 7am appointment to install a hitch, I called the day before to confirm! The next morning I get a text saying my appointment was for 1030 am, I called again to find out why. The problem is when you call you get the call center who has no idea of what is going on at the site. So I show up at 10 am and was told they would need to check to see if my order came in. There was only 2 employees there and it was a college move in weekend. A non stop parade of customers renting and returning trucks. These 2 employees were working their takes off trying to keep up and the manager was trying to install hitches in between! They did a fantastic job of taking care of situation! My beef is with UHaul the company for lack of workers!

I rarely write reviews, but feel as though I should help others out there. I saw that this location had 1 star review, but it was 35 dollars cheaper to return my U-Haul to this location instead of one that was closer to my new house... I figured what could be such a big deal if I was only dropping it off. I learned quickly that it was a big deal after being charged for having the truck a day later than I was supposed to when I turned it in a day early and was charged for going 30 miles over when I was 30 miles under the allotted mileage. This totaled to over $65 dollars of false charges. After several phone calls to corporate, I was able to get my money back, but is still unacceptable from this location! I would choose a different U-Haul location or just pay close attention to your receipt and contract at this one. They are scammers!

USE ANY OTHER COMPANY, THERE ARE MORE THAN U-HAUL OUT THERE. Very poor customer service. Rented a 20' truck and given one with transmission problems. Drove it at 50 from Florida to NC. Low speed transmission problems at 40 to 45 mph and between 55 and 60 mph. Had to keep an extra day because of slower driving speed. Couldn't wait two hours for service because I needed to close on a house. Returned to this location and was treated horribly. First, no concern what-so-ever that I had problems with the vehicle even though I purchased every insurance policy they offered. Jerk at store used N word and was more concerned over furniture pads he insisted I rented. Never rented them. Not my problem if the originating store says they were in the truck. I can't drive 1000 miles to dispute. Counter guy first said I would have to pay $5 dollars per bag for missing pads that would have been fine to get out of there. Tried to insinuate I was refusing to return them. When I gave in he decided I had to pay $6.00 per pad and he decided there were 48 pads. Charged me $288.00. He got offended when I cursed about being robbed and kicked me out. Anyone would curse if they were being robbed for $288.00. If a business is going to rob customers they need to sack up and take the cursing. I called U-Haul head quarter and my Credit card company. He can use the n word but I can curse back. I'm white. He used the n word about the African-Americans that came in after me. Still unprofessional. No wonder he has to make up bogus charges. Use any other U-Haul but this location. Thieving, sexist and racist. If I could give a lower rating I would. YOU ARE NOT A MAN IF YOU CAN HANDLE A FEW CURSE WORDS WHILE YOU ARE ROBBING YOUR CUSTOMERS. YOU ARE JUST A HORRIBLE HUMAN TO USE THE N WORD. THIS PERSON SHOULD BE FIRED.

Would give 0 stars if it were an option. TERRIBLE experience at this location. Here's the story: I made a reservation for Friday at 1pm for a 10" truck. Got a confirmation text the day before that asked me to call to confirm. I called to confirm and they told me to go to the 5th street location instead of Marshall at 1pm. No problem- not a big deal to me. Arrived promptly at 1pm at the 5th street location only to be told they had no idea why we were sent there or that we were even coming and they didn't have a 10" truck or anything close to that size available. Then after looking into the matter further, the employee realized that the 10" truck reserved for us for 1pm had been checked out by someone at 10:34am and MY credit card was charged for this stranger's $150 move.... When I talked to customer service via phone they said they couldn't void the charge but could credit me $50 towards it. I was livid... you're going to credit me $50 for a move that I didn't even make? 2.5 hours later we were told to go back to Marshal street- a 15" truck had become available that we could have. The kind employee there gave us extra mileage, an extension on the return time and only charged us $24 for the move (keep in mind the $150 still had not been taken care of) and was very apologetic and encouraged us to take the matter to corporate. She reported that this has been happening A LOT this summer. It was a nightmare for a move that didn't need to be so complicated or hectic. Think twice before booking at this location or the 5th street location because obviously a confirmation call telling you you're good to go for your move is meaningless and clearly not a guarantee.

I was directed by their 800 number to this location. Girl on the counter said no I could not drop off my Auto Trailer here because "we're full", and besides, "a customer will be needing the Auto Trailer tomorrow morning at a different location so you need to take it there". Amazing!

The facility appears clean and safe. The staff appears friendly. Do not believe it! I rented a second level unit, purchased the lock from the facility, kept both keys to the lock with me. We moved my son"s belongings from his dorm, locked the unit, and left to return home out of town for the summer. My son's returned in Aug, the unit locked as we left it but to his surprise, the contents in his unit were vandalized. All boxes were opened with box cutters, the lock broke off his trunk, and his TV stolen. To say he was shocked is an understatement. So, he went to the front desk, explained what happened and their comment was to report the claim on our homeowners insurance. I'm still working through resolving this issue. But Do NOT use this location for storage of you are storing valuables.

made a reservation to rent a truck on jonestown rd. when arrived was told the truck was at bethania station. went to the next location. the agreed price was in the system incorrectly. when i asked her to amend the price she told me she would call her supervisor. 20 minutes later i am still standing there with no resolution. i asked to speak to the supervisor. asked him what was the problem and why was it taking an hour to do something that should take 10 minutes. asked him to extend my drop off time was told it was another $40. when i complained about the poor service and asked for his name , he cancelled my reservation. this place is terrible zero stars

I just went to my storage unit for the first time in over 2 years since I first rented it. I have to find a new place. I should have come a lot sooner. My nice neatly stacked plastic Locker bins we're all turned over and the contents on the floor. Several lamps were broken and the list goes on. The lighting in many of the hallways does not work. also, there was a lock and a notice on my storage unit saying I had not paid my rent and was being denied access. I had paid my rent. The place is really filthy and hot! I have to change storage facilities. I'm not sure how everything in my unit got knocked over and broken, but I do not recommend this place! It is not the first problem I've had with them.

I purchased a grill tank at this location of Uhaul and hat it filled. I was helped right away and the man who helped me was very nice. I was able to get in and out very quickly. They are also 7 days a week so when I need to refill the tank I know they will be open.

My daughter arranged to use the Uhaul pod service to move her furniture from Winston-Salem to Oakland, CA. The entire experience has been a total nightmare. The pod was lost, then found still sitting in WS where it has been for a month. She finally got notice that it is somewhere in Oakland, but she is having a terrible time getting it delivered to her house and trying to schedule movers to unload it for her. She has been without her furniture, clothes, housewares, etc etc for nearly 6 weeks. This is inexcusable. We will never use Uhaul again.
