Ace Hardware is now closed down on Cloverdale Avenue. It was nice having a post office inside that a lot of people used. The hardware store had trouble keeping its shelves full and some of the tool isles were rather empty. Even afer covid the front staff was more interested in chasing you around the store about wearing a mask than they were in doing any work. Seemed kind of gay for a hardware store for the last couple of years.

Ace hardware cloverdale shopping center closed for good . For a long time even before covid stuff i would once in awhile go there to save a trip to lowes which is further away. Only problem wasnt a time i went they didnt have what i needed. They were bad about stocking their shelf. told them to order more stuff like tar for a roof when down low they said ok but later down the road same thing nothing there or only the high dollar stuff. same on other stuff really needed always had to go to lowes to get what i needed so cant stay in business an have nothing people need as a hardware store . Wont be missed . the people should be able to get a job easy right now , lots of openings everywhere . Businesses cant get people to work . With sky high Biden Gas ,food ect prices dont know how they avoid working.

Worst Ace I've ever been to. Glad they're gone. Hope the shopping center can fill the location with something more suitable.

Associates are nice, knowledgeable, and helpful. Clean store. The shopping center is always busy and is difficult to find parking spaces.

Most poorly stocked hardware store I’ve ever been in. A hardware store that doesn’t have channel locks, pliers or an adjustable wrench? Barely even had a screwdriver. Wow.

While they didn't have what I needed this trip, (my fault, not theirs, bc I waited so late before a winter storm to fetch kerosene), they nearly always do, and they help find it for me too!

So, I have posted on here before... really like this store and think Jacob is amazing... the owner (Mark?) was also very kind when I needed some help. I try and give my business to ACE over the Lowe's and Home Depot's whenever possible. HOWEVER: as noted in other people's reviews... this store seems notoriously out of stock on key items. Like... consistently. To be fair... is this because of supply chain issues? Are the smaller stores having issues whereas the larger ones can get what they need? This is starting to be a real bummer for me. I just called today for a product... NONE of the items in this line of products are available at this store. What is going on?

Pretty limited selection and the staff seemed oddly hostile. Several customers left and articulated that they were going to another store.

Always a pleasure due to friendly staff and it's fun to browse with so many things to see. Glad it's located so conviently and includes a post office. That's icing on the cake.

I live 2 blocks from this ace hardware and always get my hopes up when I need something. I am always disappointed. Went today looking for a simple socket adapter. Not only did they not have one, they hardly had any sockets at all. I cannot count the number of times over the years I come in here needing something fairly simple and leave empty handed. The Ace hardware on Robinhood road is where you want to go. I wish this one wasn't even here to get my hopes up.

Jacob was incredibly helpful. You can always tell when someone enjoys their work, he clearly does.I wish I had an employee as dedicated as Jacob is!Nothing beats the down home feel, you feel when shopping at Ace, not to mention the value. The Post Office inside, is simply a Huge plus. One of your better Ace Hardware, hands down!

Nine out of ten times what we need is out of stock and we end up at Home Depot. Last time, they couldn't even make a copy of our back door key. I don't know why we even check here anymore except it is in the neighborhood. Place always looks run-through and understocked. Staff is not super rude, but definitely not helpful, and you usually feel you are inconveniencing them. As most will tell you, the Ace on Robinhood is MUCH better - I wish the owner of that one (different) would buy and manage this one. The second star is for the post office and the friendly lady that works there.

I think this hardware store is at a convenient location for my neighborhood in particular because it prevents me from having to drive across town to Hanes Mall Blvd, usually fighting traffic along the way. You may find better prices elsewhere but all in all I'd say the prices are similar to what you would find at Lowe's or Home Depot. The staff is friendly and during the spring and summer months they have a small garden section outside with herbs, flowers, soil, etc. Did I mention there is a post office inside! Again convenient!

Not a lot of people know this, but Ace Hardware is actually a network of locally owned stores, not a national chain. So when you buy something from Ace, you're supporting local business owners. And for me, that's usually work the extra 10-15% in price. Plus it's just around the corner from the house. That being said, there's definitely some things I'll still go to the big box stores. But I always come back from those trips pissed off having to deal with all the traffic. One of the best features of this store is that there's an actual Post Office in the back that never has any waiting. They've got a big selection of grilling supplies as well. I deducted 1 star because sometimes their stock levels need work and because not all products are priced, and I hate having to go ask how much something costs. But they're a great neighborhood hardware store.
