Turtle River State Park is a beautiful and family-friendly destination with plenty to offer. The park features well-kept campsites with spacious sites, modern showers with hot water, and clean restrooms that are well stocked. Visitors can enjoy a variety of trails offering gorgeous views of prairies, woods, river, and ravines, along with signs of changing seasons. The park also has a large dog park with stations at main areas and trails where dogs are welcome on leashes, though not in cabins. There are several picnic areas with tables and barbecue grills, and some may require reservations. The campground includes primitive sites perfect for outdoor fun, as well as a small cabin with an indoor bathroom, shower, picnic table, grill, and fire pit, suitable for a small family. The park hosts good programming, has open areas, playgrounds with swing sets, and a visitor center with helpful information and monthly events. Friendly staff, clean facilities, and scenic surroundings make Turtle River State Park a highly enjoyable spot for outdoor activities.
I love coming here. Nice open spaces. They eventually added new cabins. I prefer primitive camp sites. They offer bathrooms and they have tons of spots. My dad and brother camp here annually. This place alone has convinced me to get an annual pass for the whole state. They also have a dog park which is a huge plus.

By far my favorite place in the Grand Forks Area. Trails are fun for running and MTB, nice facilities, and easy access from home.

A beautiful place to fall hike. Trails closed due to major storm damage. Not well marked.
