A fully stocked grocery store with a weekly sales schedule. They have a huge selection and inventory.

Employees are the rudest of any of the grocery stores in town, including Walmart's. Hugo's management must go out of their way to find the most spiteful people to hire, and being callous must be a requirement. To be fair, if I could write a review about myself, I'd say "needs to grow a spine" because I just take the abuse. "Guess I'll get a cake some other day," after being told off by the bakery employee for merely asking what time they close to give her a social cue that I would like to grab something, who then just ignored me. Does this place pay worse than Walmart? It must considering how much their employees hate their job.Again, to be fair, it's not every employee. But the ones that are friendly are the minority.Oh, and Hugo's is the most expensive grocery in any town. Save your money, and go get treated poorly somewhere that at least your wallet won't get abused. Honestly, I should just stop avoiding going to Target which has always been the best in town. I just tried to stay loyal to my Hugo's, but forget it after how rude they treat their customers.

The store is always clean, the staff is always friendly. Good selection of goods, and very nice bakery. Prices are ok, parking is good. I love the app, I use it all the time.

Convenient location and lots of goodies. Some prices are very high compared to the area stores, but better on others. Meat department is second to none. My go to place for fresh seafood. You can't miss with the ladies making fresh sushi either. Always smiling and they'll make a special roll if you ask them. Staff is friendly and visible. The self checkout puts Walmart to shame, machines that work and someone that helps if you need it. Never tried it, but they have a Carribu Coffee ad well. Stop in you won't be disappointed.

Hugo’s is reliable. I do find some price gouging and out of stock items lately, which has driven us to get our groceries from Target more regularly.

I went shopping at 32nd Hugo's in Grand Forks on March 25 and was checked out by Kelly around 2:20 pm. I had to apologize for needing to grab a Coke and drink some of it before paying for it. I am a Type I diabetic and my Dexcom meter was telling me I was in danger and needed sugar fast so I quickly grabbed something. I got a lot of not so friendly looks by customers in the store. But Kelly was very helpful and told me she understood and would rather I have done that than have passed out. Thanks for hiring Kelly. She makes me want to come back!

For the most part Hugo's is a clean store to shop in. Due the pandemic I had not been in a store in many, many months. But I decided to try the other day and the Hugo's scooters that they have for the disabled, still continue to do jolting stops!! I understand that if it seems like someone is falling out of the seat the machine has to do a fast stop. But I think they have the sensitivity level up just a bit too high! The more groceries you put into the basket the more often it jolts to a stop. My guess is it has to do with the shifting of the groceries in the basket as you drive and maybe hit an unevenness in the floor, or just even turning into an aisle. Shutting it off and turning it back on does not solve the issue. You have to literally stand up and sit down, sometimes numerous times just to get it to start moving again. I will not shop there again until they fix those motorized carts. It's extremely hard on one's back & knees to be trying to stand up, sit down, stand up, sit down, Etc. just to get it to start moving again. My other issue with Hugo's has always been, for over 20 years, they have a tendency to put up sale signs next to the product , knowing full well that that item is not even going on sale for a day or two later. In my opinion, that is defrauding the public. When I worked at Kmart, the customer always got the price that was listed on the Shelf. Because it's the store's responsibility to assure the customer that they're not taking advantage of them. And then they also have the tendency to not even honor that price when it's their problem. Or they'll have issues where they will not take down sale signs after sale is over. For the most part the sales clerks have always been good at their job and with customer service. Prices have always been higher at Hugo's stores. And I understand that their thinking is they can't get it lower because they're not a conglomerate like Target or Walmart and can't keep up with the inventory or something. But their legit sales are decent. But I wouldn't go shopping for much of anything else in there because of the high cost of everyday items and the mishandling of sale item pricing at the till and also with the shelving sale signs. CHECK YOUR RECEIPTS is all I can tell you to do.

Normally Hugo's does an excellent job with cakes however this cake that I got today was made 2 days ago. The frosting is dry, the picture is bubbled and the cake is dry. I am highly disappointed.

Hugo's # 6 has "curb-side" pickup and delivery, so I can order on-line, and never worry about dealing with crowds or bad weather. And the cashiers are super friendly when I do go into the store.

Please let your brainwashed staff understand, with this non DEADLY new normal Flu pandemic that CDC does not recommend a mask when people are not within 6 feet of each other.. Staff is not disinfecting shopping cart or handles on coolers.. so get real with your caution. I will no longer be shopping at your store because of your overly paranoid older ladies, also your prices are much higher than those of your competitor's..

Hugo's doesn't care if they have your business. I guess being the only grocery store in town hugo's feels they can treat you any way they want. I told them my doctor said I shouldn't wear a mask, they still would not let me into the store without one. I can take my business to Sam's, Walmart, and Target. Do not go there, it is against the law to require a mask if that person's health could be at risk.

ABBY is amazing. Unfortunately we live in a time where the people crying about everyone else being offended are the ones losing it over an employees enforcing store mask policy (aka doing their jobs.) She didn’t offer the last review poor service, she was doing her job as many witnesses can probably account for.
