They know what they did. -_-
Brought my car in for a recall. I was asked if I had any other concerns, and maybe because I have ADHD I don't always understand the implications behind someone's questions, I also feel compelled to answer honestly, so I mentioned my concerns.. a few small things, mostly questions about maintenance milestones since I was approaching 100k, and repeatedly told them I didn't have money for actual repairs.. The guy told me they ALWAYS do a 10 point inspection (or something like that) .. Like give it a quick once over and would let me know if anything needed deeper evaluation.
We went over my phone number about 4 times between making the appointment, confirming it, and on the day. I got the same question when I dropped it off, told all the same things to yet another guy who said they could "take a look" while they worked on the exhaust recall. I thought "great", said thanks, and when the work took two hours longer than expected, I called them.. they just said they'd call me back when it was done. Around closing time I called again, they said they had the wrong number for me and also charged me for diagnostics for things that I never agreed to diagnose!!! They lowered the fee.. but I still had to split payment between ALL my cash and the rest of a credit card I didn't want to use before they'd give my car back! Never, not even once, did they mention diagnostic fees, except when I told them I can't afford anything at the moment.
Even though they said they'd tell me first if they had to "look deeper" at anything, they proceeded to investigate one completely random issue I mentioned that was merely an annoyance, not a problem, and didn't require attention at all as I already knew what the problem was - if anything, I needed a quote for the repair so I could add it to my "to-do-eventually" list.
They claimed to have lost my phone number (despite me confirming it 3+ times) and decided to move forward with this "laborious diagnosis" without contacting me about the potential additional charges for what was supposed to be a FREE recall repair.
My brakes completely seized two weeks later stranding me 4 states away. Apparently I had nothing left on the rear pads, but they played around for what became 6 hours (8 total for what was supposed to be a 2 hour job) looking at the line to MY FUEL DOOR. Yes.. that's it. They never did the basic inspection that they ALWAYS do. They just messed around figuring out why my fuel door sometimes is a "little sticky"! They wasted my whole day, charged me for it, and then allowed me to drive off in a dangerous vehicle!

I'd give it a higher rating, but they won't deal, ya know like a dealership is supposed to to get you to buy their cars. I went in there plenty of times told them I have $1,000.00 burning a hole in my pocket. Just because I'm upside down and my credit is in repair, they won't deal with me. I bought my first car there when I moved here to Grand Forks, but I guess loyalty counts for nothing. Even when I've taken cars in there for oil changes and tire rotation. Ya know a \\\"loyal patron\\\". I kinda thought they weren't too far behind Eide. Is alright in a way becauseI used my spare dollars to help homeless and foreign people abroad that are in need of the all mighty dollar. I make $80K a year so is more their loss than mine. We had such a good experience with Grand Forks Subaru we decided to go back and get a second vehicle from them. Kevin was a pleasure to work with. He was straight forward and honest with information which we appreciated. Our first Subaru, first new car, first time leasing.

We bought a certified used car, within a week the brakes were bad and the rotors were warped. They tried to tell me that warped rotors can happen within 25 miles of driving. They did end up fixing them but it was a hassle. Apparently “certified” means nothing.
