I’ve had excellent service over the many years I’ve banked at Dacotah Bank. All of the employees are very friendly and knowledgeable and have been extremely helpful with all of my banking needs.

Pass on this bank. They advertise free checking, and free bill pay, free transfers. Below is a letter I wrote the bank upon closing my account. To whom it may concern, I have transferred 11,167.29 out of my account XXXXXXXX21, with your 3.00 Transfer fee (to my own account) this should bring my balance to zero. Considering internet banking options are becoming more prevalent, and people generally use different accounts; I find it very discouraging that this fee along with your Bill Pay fees that I've been charged in excess of $40 for and have caused me to overdraft even when I have transferred money in to cover fees as I watch my account closely. You've lost a customer, I'm not sure that anyone at Dacotah Bank really cares, I do have a lot of friends who bank there who I will be sharing my experience with; Fidelity and E-Trade personal accounts is where true customer service is. They offer unlimited reimbursements on ATM fees, Free external transfers, and bill pay.
