Annapolis Royal Historic Gardens is a beautiful escape in Nova Scotia, offering visitors a serene experience with stunning views of a tidal river valley. This premier attraction showcases over four hundred years of local gardening history through various designs and methods. Highlights include an impressive Rose Collection with hundreds of cultivars, an Innovative Garden for urban gardening, and a reconstructed Acadian House from 1671 based on archaeological evidence. The gardens feature a wide variety of plants in a lovely rolling landscape, perfect for leisurely exploration. While the café may feel tired and the menu lacks inspiration, the delicious butter cake is a pleasant surprise. Visitors appreciate the peaceful environment, especially during off-peak times, and the gift shop offers many local items. Admission is $20 per person, making it a worthwhile experience for those seeking beauty and tranquility. It's recommended to allow at least two hours to fully enjoy the gardens.
