If the other buildings burn down and they rebuild as they have done with the Main Lodge, then you could count on getting a good room there. All rooms are NOT created equal. I have stayed here countless times over the past decade and a half+ and always try to get a room in the main lodge (now that it's built). Before then, I had specific room numbers that I'd request. Each building has it's own state of disrepair and negligence, except for the main lodge, at the moment. Some are more than run down, and some smell. I am not trying to be a callous or nasty customer, I still stay there because my workplace has an account, but if I don't get a room at the main lodge, I am almost always disappointed, with 2 exceptions ( Cottage O or the first floor, water-looking corner unit in Argyle House that is their "Honeymoon suite"). The rest of the rooms are below expectation for the price and propaganda.

Best resort I've been to so far. Don't forget to use the indoor pool, sauna, and hot tub during your stay. And before you book, check the recent package.

Lovely resort with multiple restuarants on site. Met very nice people at the bar. Very close to the Cabot trail.
Rooms: Very comfortable rooms for us with lots of amenities.
Food and drinks: Restuarant down by the water as well as at the main lodge. Both were excellant.

I want to put in full five stars for this resort, but there were quite a few problems I experienced while I stayed here.
First, the bedroom I was placed on the first floor of the Glasgow building, which had the heavy aroma of chlorine from the pool. Gave me an instant headache. The room itself was nice, but there was a window that would not close because of a broken hinge, bringing in cold air.
WiFi is very spotty here; you have to be at the main building or at the restaurant down by the water.
The location is just beautiful; it deserves the five star rating. Everything else? You have to decide on that.
Rooms: You should request a room with a tall shower in the bathroom. The shower in my room was too short, so I had to crouch down.

Great place on the Cabot Trail! Restaurant is the best!
Rooms: Rooms are comfortable, but not the greatest connectivity. There are not elevators (we on the 3rd floor), but the friendliness of the staff more than made up for those small issues.
Food and drinks: We ate at the restaurant by the lake both nights we were there. Staff was incredible, food was delicious!

Disappointing. We booked one night in a “cottage suite”, basing our expectations on the website photo that showed a leather club chair and ottoman, mission-style furnishings, and a fireplace. Our suite - #30 “Iona” - had none of those things. Instead we got 1980s Holiday Inn surplus furnishings, a stale cigarette odour, and a worn out bathroom.
On the plus side, the room was quiet, and I would say it was adequately clean but clearly well overdue for refurbishing. And again, not even close to what is shown on the website. I mentioned this when checking out, and the staff seemed to be familiar with this type of complaint.
The location is very good. Right on the water in Baddeck, close to the Bell historic site, Cabot Trail, and so on.
The main lodge is brand new and beautiful, making the contrast when checking into the dingy room all that more dramatic.
The only reason I rated two stars rather than one was the live entertainment (and food and service) in the pub. The Monday night singer - Rob Maclean - is an absolute gem. One of the best live performers I’ve ever had the pleasure to see and hear. The food, atmosphere, and service was good, but Rob was great - 10 stars all by himself.
In short, I’d find somewhere else to stay in Baddeck, but make sure I got to Inverary on Monday night for dinner, drinks, and some great live music.

Great location by the Cabot trail, but the whole place is tired and dated. Food was mediocre.

Our stay at Inverary Resort was extremely disappointing and unfortunately ruined our experience in the Cabot Trail. We paid over $650 for two nights, expecting a quality stay, but the room quality was far below expectations. Upon checking in, we were initially given a room that had a musty smell. The front desk staff called to check on us, and after I honestly expressed my concerns, they graciously switched us to another room in a different building. However, the new room was even worse, with a strong urine smell. I had to go out and buy Febreze to neutralize the odor.
The bathroom was unclean and appeared to have fixtures that were at least 40 years old. The furniture and the bed were outdated and uncomfortable—honestly, any below-average motel would have been a better choice. We requested housekeeping services on the second day before leaving for sightseeing, but our room was not serviced when we returned.
The only positive aspect of our stay was the breakfast. The food was good, and the staff in the dining area were professional and courteous. However, this does not make up for the overall poor experience. We were very disappointed with our stay and would not recommend this resort.

Inverary Resort located in Baddeck N.S. Canada. The property is within walking distance to the lovely town of Baddeck. The Resort consists of numerous buildings laid out across a large 40 acre property that is right on the water. The buildings include a Maine Lodge with restaurant and front desk , a convention center, large and small multi room lodge buildings, cottages, a waterside restaurant, and other maintenance structures. The grounds are sprawling and open, decorated with a nice variety plants and flowers, numerous lounge chairs available to enjoy a relaxing afternoon looking across the water. Ample parking is available for each lodge building and cottage.
Staff and management are friendly and helpful. I observed various staff working to maintain this large property.
I stayed in the Argyle building, my room was clean and contained two beds with updated furniture and carpet, I was glad to see smoke detectors in my room for safety, although there was no fire suppression system in the room as you might see in many hotels. The bathroom in my room was clean but outdated, 60's vintage, towels were white and plentiful.
I enjoyed my stay and would return in the future.
Note to property owner:
Please put some resources into repainting the building exteriors, I love the charcoal / and white color sceam.
The beautiful and varied plants need trimming, planting beds need mulch and de-weeding. And last. the pavement needs patching campus wide. Yes it will take additional staff and financial resources, but this property is well worth it.
Walkability: Large sprawling campus , beautiful waterfront.

Rooms in need of renovation, but otherwise everything was great. Especially dinner.
