A beautiful house and a highlight in a small town on the Eastern shore. We we're very disappointed to find that due to the pandemic the upstairs of the house was closed - understandable with a busy museum - but it turned out we were the only visitors in 3 days!considering you couldn't look around without a member of staff present to prevent people from touching items it seemed the pandemic was being used as an excuse to not fully open.I would recommend a visit in normal circumstances but don't make a trip during the pandemic as you'll be disappointed.

Want to feel like you stepped back in time? That's what it's like to enter this ancient three story mansion with its dark woodwork, worn look, stained glass, shadowed interior and rich old furnishings even with the display cases and historical video. Make sure you ask to see the widow's walk and watch your step on the narrow winding stair.
