Hours: The Dartmouth SPCA is a registered charity that proudly follows open-admission and no-kill principles, helping over 16,000 companion animals in need every year. It helps pets that were abandoned, injured, homeless, or abused, giving them a second chance through animal rescue, progressive programs, and rehoming opportunities. The staff provide one-on-one care to rebuild trust, fully vet the animals, and offer around-the-clock care until they find their forever family. The location is well kept and clean, though it is a small space that can feel a little chaotic when busy. The staff are very friendly and very nice, though usually very busy. Visitors love going in to offer some love to the always loveable pets, which can range from lots to only a couple depending on the time of year. It is a great way to kill an hour or two. The website is not always up-to-date, so stopping in for a visit is recommended. Donations of extra blankets or towels are welcomed.
