Refuse to answer their phone when calling so what's the point in having a receptionist when they are not even answering a call. Also I have found a few people judge me because I have a child who is 10 years old and this place assumes that a puppy they have would not fit well with a 10 year old and put age restrictions on these animals doesn't matter that the 10 year old has grown up with dogs and cats. They should not be allowed to put an age restriction on a puppy who has never been around kids and they should never ever assume anything. It's like they don't want to have certain or all dogs there to be adopted at all. Not impressed and trying to reach the head of spca is like pulling teeth.

My family fosters dogs for the SPCA and we have had nothing but a wonderful experience. We have looked after a mother with her 11 puppies, a litter of seven puppies and we’re currently fostering a pregnant mother. The SPCA has been nothing but totally supportive and helpful. The adult dogs that we have had were, and are, awesomely behaved animals. It has been a thoroughly enjoyable experience for everyone in our household. I highly recommend doing this as an option for helping out.

I got my cat Bean from the SPCA on April 16th. I adopted him aware that he had a respiratory infection in the past, however, was assured he was in perfect health currently. After 38 days of having him, I came home from work one day, and he had one pupil severely dilated, and the other normal. I called the vet and took him immediately in and was told that he has high blood pressure and glaucoma, which could potentially cause blindness or result in the loss of the eye. When I contacted the SPCA and told them of this issue, they told me that my options were either to surrender them to him, get my $300 adoption fee back, or come in and surrender him and get a new cat. They told me it’s not their responsibility anymore to care for him and that it’s not their fault I cant not afford to pay for his vet bills. ( the initial visit was 600$ and he will need eye drops for the rest of his life twice a day. He will also likely be blind in that eye and need it removed which would be thousands of dollars in vet care. He is also now clearly sick and not his happy self). They told me they can legally only help pets in their care if they’re surrendered, and that even if he went back for adoption they could not hold him for me to adopt him back (a nice way of saying they will likely be putting him down). I asked if I could bring him in to them so their vet could see him and at least tell me what is wrong with him so I can plan to care for him and they told me that is not possible and he’s not their responsibility. I have had him again for 38 DAYS. Bean is a sweet cat and I love him very much and do not wish to give him up. He was clearly not healthy when I adopted him and they refuse to take any responsibility for their negligence. I am so disappointed in this organization that I have previously loved and supported. I will never be associating with them again and hope that others look for alternatives in animal care because they are not always keeping the animals in their best interests.

Adopted our little fur baby Nova (previously Peaches) about a month ago now and couldn't be happier! She has settled in so well and fits our fam perfectly.Emily at the SPCA was super helpful & patient during the adoption process, and the centre was very prompt in following up on a (very minor) issue we had a week after adopting her, even returning my call after hours. Was all-around a very straight-forward, welcoming, and easy way to adopt a pet!
