**No tellers at this location**
My sister flew into town to do executor work with me, and to our surprise the Scotiabank locations that said they were open on Saturday, were not (Micmac Mall had renos, and Cole Harbour was not actually open).
When we found a location that was open (Clayton Park) it too was not full teller service. We left extremely frustrated by the poor information put out there by Scotia, and we were not the only ones who left disappointed.
My sister had to take an extra day of vacation and re-book a flight, costing ~$1k!
We got to the Portland St location on Monday, and to our surprise, this location is permanently no teller service - advisors only, by appointment.
I get that companies have to make money, but Scotiabank is shooting itself in the foot with horrible hours and a lack of teller capacity. It's all the more shocking given the booming growth that Halifax is seeing.
My family will be closing all of our Scotiabank accounts and taking our business somewhere that it's wanted.

Went to this branch because all the others near me are open like 10-4 (super inconvenient) and I thought this branch would be able to do the basic thing I needed (certified cheque). They don't have any tellers at all so it's basically a glorified ATM machine and then theres like 2 staff there for appointments. And no where online did it state that so i wanted to share so others can plan accordingly.

got rid of all tellers so it’s basically a non-branch at this point. i’m assuming it’s going to fully close once the lease is up

Absolutely ridiculous that you can't call the actual branch. The phone number redirects you to the call center. I need to talk to someone at the branch.

Became a victim of fraud, they closed my account without informing me, also had to go to a manager to get my funds. The cashier I dealt with was very avoidant and annoying to deal with, if the manager hadn't gotten me my funds I'd have had to sue them.

ATM was previously open 24/7 and abruptly changed to 9-5 M-F, closed on weekends. Other banks on the street have not adopted this policy. There is no ability to swipe your card for access. If you need access to your cash or other ATM services and work normal hours, I’d consider banking elsewhere.

We had such a terrible experience both times we came to this branch after moving to dartmouth. Officer 206 was both times curt and avoidant to help. During our last visit, we had to pay off a closed scotia credit card and she asked us to pay online (which we tried several times already before coming in ) and then said she cannot look us up because account is closed (a lie because i know you can cuz i worked at scotia before) until we gave more explanation. Just overall painful experience for a simple transaction.

Branch opens up with no staffed tellers to serve customers, dismal service and a major inconvienence to have to go across town to another branch for everyday banking!!!

I had a wonderful experience with one amazing lady today. I was at the teller window doing some banking, the lady who helped me was very kind with a warm laugh! I unfortunately didn’t catch her name . She had a great smile and beautiful long dark braids! She definitely made my day! Thank you?

I put my money into your bank for years, I ask you for a small business loan because of this pandemic and you refused me thanks for not supporting small-business Scotiabank. After all the years I have put my money into your hands. You say you're there for small business in your commercials well I'm calling you a liar.
