This is an absolute GEM on the Cabot Trail. The location is stunning, the rooms are perfect and the service top notch. The dining room serves the most delicious dinner and it’s so convenient to be right on site. You’re also treated to a homemade continental breakfast (the multigrain toast, homemade granola with yogurt and yummy frittata are a wonderful start to your day!). We only stayed 2 nights, but wished we could stay more. It’s a great location to explore the National Park, Whale watch, and just relax.

We just spent 5 nights there!! A year would not have been enough. Beautiful location and very well kept. The cottages are lovely and comfortable. Absolutely the best staff possible: friendly, helpful, and skilled. The restaurant is amazing. The halibut is delicious and a mild garlic sauce with it — the entire plate was scrumptious!! Very reasonable and a place we will return to in the near future!Walkability: So many views and a very accessible beach!Food & drinks: We can’t say enough but be sure to stay if dessert!

Very cabin like feeling, say yes to a reservation as locally no other place for food without driving 6 miles for groceries. Rooms were comfortable. A beach bonfire was beautiful. Food was really good. Complimentary breakfast filled the tummy. Even evening live musician in the main lobby. Pool was heated!

Loved this resort. Super cozy room with beautiful view of the ocean. The restaurant for breakfast and dinner was outstanding,! One of our best meals in all of Nova Scotia. What set this over the top for us was the staff and nightly entertainment. This was the highlight of our week.

4.5, mostly 5. the cottages are comfy but just a tad worn (counter surfaces, etc) and the coffee/teas in the cottage are not very good.that said, everything else is delightful: the linens, towels, shampoo/conditioner/soap are all lovely. i slept on the couch and it was very comfortable, even not opened up into a bed. housekeeping gave me a full set of linens.the breakfast is included and has lots of choices: scones/biscuits, toast, yogurt, granola, cereal, coffee, teas, fruit. a really nicespread, much of it baked in-house.dinner is extra, and very good, indeed! i had an excellent hamburger, the seafood pasta was full of lobster chunks, fish, mussels and was also very good.the main house is friendly, with a table with a jigsaw puzzle, and games, and the views from various angles were terrific.Rooms: ample, comfortable, clean, good linens & amenities.Food & drinks: excellent food!

Fabulous restaurant with outstanding service from super friendly folks. Then we listened to live music from a solo singer in the lobby/lounge. One thing that could improve the experience would be if the hotel posted and enforced clear guidelines about quiet time after a certain time - we had rowdies on the lawn until far too late in the early morning.

We enjoyed our stay here very much! The cabin was quaint and cozy and the staff here were all so friendly and accommodating! The restaurant is incredible! We had planned to eat other places but ended up dining here every night! I hope to be able to come back again one day!

We have a very pleasant stay at Markland. Cozy cottage, walk out to a private beaches, and sit on the Adirondack chairs in the afternoon are all memorable. The dinning experience is excellent, seafoods are absolutely delicious and the salad is exceptionally different and fresh. At night there is live music outside the restaurant, very entertaining. In the morning, the included breakfast are exceptional with lots of variety. There is an outdoor pool if you want a splash too!All staff are very very friendly and helpful, Vanessa is superb!Only thing is, the cell phone reception are bad there, I need the Google map to check my routing for the whale watching. Luckily I can still get Wi-Fi at the reception and restaurant areas. All in all, highly recommended place to stay or just to dine ?

Simple cabin layout, but clean and well-appointed. The location and grounds are world-class. Dining experiences were fantastic; especially surprised by the quality of the breakfast.Noteworthy details: Exceptionally dramatic views toward the ocean with gorgeous walking access to the beach.

If I could give this place 10 stars I would! We stayed here 24 years ago and we had put it on a pedestal in our memories. We decided to stay here again after camping in the park on a whim and we are so glad we did as it was a wonderful end to our trip! Our night was in the Kingfisher Cabin, what a beautiful place! We thought the view off the front of the was gorgeous; well, this one was serene, private and breathtaking as well! We didn’t want to leave! Our dog didn’t either, she loved it too, played dead weight when we went to put her in the car!For a cabin, it was immaculately clean and well stocked and the furnishing were updated! The bed was super comfy! The restaurant is fantastic! Definitely have the seafood pasta! And the breakfast was baked onsite and delicious. Maybe the best morning glory muffin I have ever had!Staff are wonderful, helpful and friendly!Wonderful beaches, one of the best views east of the Rocky Mountains and some epic hikes near by! ♥️♥️♥️

You're own private beach and on a clear night, thanks to very minimal light pollution, can see stars forever. The chef is amazing, do not skip having a bowl of their sea food chowder. The main area has puzzles and live music in the evening . Come prepared as there are mosquitoes in the evening.

Scenic views looking out over the ocean, outside of small town Dingwall. Modest cottages with no wifi or television. A break from the creature comforts, but rewards during meals at the main lodge.
