“Fast and efficient service at check out and check in. Agent gave us some driving instruction at pickup because the vehicle was a Tesla Model 3… she/we had some difficulties finding some of the features of the car. It was nice to have the personalized “driving test” experience before leaving the lot.Personally, I’d not recommend renting an EV at the Halifax airport. The Tesla is a nice car to drive but finding fast chargers is problematic. Enfield Irving Big Stop (just north of the airport) seemed to be the only pace with Tesla Superchargers but even these took close to 50 minutes to charge 50% - and you’re looking at about a 10% burn to get back into Halifax. At least these seem to be free. Update - the Tesla chargers at Enfield are not free, we got a notice from Avis a couple of weeks after we returned with a bill of around $65 for two charges.Most of our trip had to be planned around finding chargers. We used Switch which had a few Level 2 chargers in the Halifax area - all of these were slow with about an 8% charge over 60 minutes… if they weren’t under repair. They were often in weird places. The Flo network might have faster chargers. Prepare to spend your vacation time looking for chargers. It would be awesome if Avis recommended a charging company as a starting point to make the search for chargers easier. The agent did tell us that there were even fewer chargers in Cape Breton. We did a drive out to Peggy’s Cove and then had to drive out to Enfield the next day to charge the car somewhat efficiently. What we saved minimally in gas costs we lost in time waiting for the car to charge.Avis - great service. Tesla, pain to charge.”
“I’ve never had a negative experience renting from Enterprise. I’ve only rented at YHZ one time and the experience was, as always, positive. Fast, friendly (Bluenosers are wonderful down to earth people) and efficient when picking up and incredibly efficient when returning a car. I travel extensively for my job and I always choose Enterprise. Continue treating me right, and you’ll have this customer for life.”

“I am rating them 4 stars as I have always had quick, and efficient service here, however my latest return was disappointing. I dropped the car as I usually do and was told I would be emailed my invoice. When I received it , there was a $160 refueling charge despite having just filled the car. I have emailed 3 times and have yet to receive a response. Upon scrolling through other reviews, this appears to be a frequent issue. Hoping for a resolution.”

“We initially made a reservation with Enterprise at the Halifax Airport, but when we arrived at the their counter no one was there and their station was dark. Several other Enterprise customers who were also left stranded because of this were in line at Budget Car Rental. We were helped by Joey, the friendliest and most helpful person we had encountered all day. In the time it took him to rent us a (VERY nice) Kia AWD, his kindness and genuine desire to assist us, and even give us recommendations of things to do while here, brightened our darkened moods after a long and difficult day of travel. THANK YOU, Joey! We appreciate you more than you know! If you’re Joey’s boss you should give him a raise! ?”

“The wait time to collect our reserved vehicle was a reasonable 15-20 minutes. We were given a 2024 Audi A4 KOMFORT with 36,000 kilometers on the odometer. The vehicle performed admirably, allowing us to travel safely throughout the Maritimes, covering a total of 3,900 kilometers by the end of our trip! Appreciated the presence of all essential safety features, including blind spot monitoring, lane departure warning, and pre-collision assistance, which made us feel more comfortable during bad weather.
The staff involved in the check-in and check-out processes were both friendly and efficient.
While the interior was well-maintained, the exterior could have benefited from additional cleaning, as there were bird droppings on the sunroof and a significant amount of mud on the wheels when we picked-up the vehicle. It was also due for service so a reminder light kept popping up on the dash. The tire pressure monitor had given a false alarm when there was no leak or puncture.”
