We were so excited to stay at The Evangeline on a recent trip to Wolfville. From the moment we checked in the experience was disappointing. Emails about contactless checkin went to junk mail. Front desk staff seemed annoyed that we stopped at the office. The room which we expected to be chic based on the photos was in reality cheap and poorly maintained. Bedding was clean. I tried to avoid the bathroom. Walls were paper thin. We were awoken several times throughout the night. Amenities were meh. Hot tub felt very exposed. Overhyped and overpriced. It’s a basic motel. We would not stay again. Next time we’ll choose from one of the many nearby and reasonably priced BnB’s.

It was really not as nice as I expected, given the photos on the website. The room felt damp, it was dark since you're basically underground. The decor was stark white. I would have loved a door mat. In the few hours we were there a lot of dirt was tracked in which got stuck to our feet and then in the bed (ick). The room had a tv, but no cable. They expected you to log in to your own streaming accounts, which doesn't work great if you're traveling from another country. I changed my mind about dinner at the restaurant after seeing the room. It was the most expensive hotel on our entire Nova Scotia vacation, and it didn't at all feel worth it.

Excellent spot to stay if planning on doing things in and around Wolfville. Sauna, pool and hot tub on site were excellent. Longfellow restaurant has amazing food. We had a great experience.

I rented the whole property for my family and friends to stay the two nights leading up to my wedding. We barely left the property we loved it so much. The rooms are clean and beautifully decorated. The staff is helpful and polite. The groomsmen got ready in the recently renovated “Owner’s House” and the bridesmaids got ready in the “Borden House”. The aesthetic of each is on point and it shows in the few sneak peeks we’ve received from the photographers thus far. It was truly a highlight of our wedding weekend staying at the Evangeline with our friends and family. I highly recommend staying here for a weekend away or renting the the whole property for a family reunion or wedding.Food & drinks: Longfellow’s Restaurant is right on site. We hosted our rehearsal and morning after brunch there and both were amazing.

What could be a five-star venue left us disappointed considering the price of the Borden king room. Positive features: nice setting in historic old home, period wardrobe, comfortable 4-poster bed, and robes for pool and hot tub use. Areas for improvement: stark white walls and trim with no artwork; no toilet paper roll holder, and holes in wall where toilet roll dispener used to be. Consider providing a few simple amenities other than one small bar of soap and make-up remover towelettes ( suggestions: shampoo and facial tissues).

Looking forward to spending a few days at the newly renovated Evangeline Motel now Evangeline Inn with my Mom and sister. Very disappointing. Very impersonal. We were given a code to get into the room that was set for 3 pm no earlier. The room was very esthetic but not practical. No closet. Very small ot at all we expected for $240 a night. No utensils. No instructions on using the Nespresso machine. It was very loud. No instructions for the air exchanger which was disappointing considering outside temperatures were 31c. We ended up turning it off waking up with water on the floor. Had my 90 year mother slipped well it would not be good. 1 roll of toilet paper. Flies come in our room because of the main door being left open which we did not anticipate having to share a hallway with 2 other rooms. Slamming of the door to the hallway was annoying. Needless to say we did not have a good sleep. Very dissatisfied. We canceled our 2nd night and was was refunded in full for last night.

I just had a wonderful staycation at the Evangeline this past Saturday night with my son, his mom and my mom! My son ran into the property saying “this is the best motel ever!!” And it was.We loved the pool and pool room…so light and yet not too hot for those who were lounging. The pool temperature was just right for us. The outdoor hot tub is very cool with the willow tree nearby and the views. We enjoyed it all so much. Thank you.

My sister and I adored staying at the Evangeline. A gorgeous setting with wonderful thoughtful touches. We dined at Long Fellow twice and loved it. A perfect menu filled with locally sourced ingredients. The staff were very hospitable and I cant recommend it enough!

The Evangeline was a beautiful experience to kick off spring! We loved the aesthetic and the food was terrific. PLUS the hotel is located near gorgeous wineries - now that’s a perfect pairing!

The host we had Avram was very responsive to the messages I sent before arrival which was nice! The room itself was cute and cozy, and the heat pump & tv worked great. The only complaint is that the rooms are not very soundproof and the doors shake every time someone else in the hallway would open-and-shut theirs (we were in the 345 area). This wouldn't bother us as much if we didn't have our 14 month old with us. The people staying in the other rooms were so loud and they were in and out of the room so many times that the noise of the door shaking made us leave that same night we got there.. sad we spent that much money to only stay 5 hours and have to leave the same night due to the doors and the other people sharing the hallway. The pool was great, but the sauna was not working which we were looking forward to so that was sad. We also only had two small windows in our room and it seemed like all the other rooms had huge windows.

A charmless strip motel on the outside (with the exception of the historic house). On the inside clean Scandi-modern. Besides the name, there are references to Evangeline, Acadians, or anything else I associate with the region. Restaurant is exceptional! We had oysters and crispy duck, and were the only diners that night. The pies were as good as homemade. A pleasant stay, but I wish I could have made tea in the room (only coffee available) and have a little more celebration of local culture/history. Other than the excellent pies.

Literally one of the best places I’ve ever stayed. It’s so fresh and modern but has a lot of charm. You feel so connected with everyone who stays there. They a communal fire pit in the middle - and a little library etc. it’s just so cute! It’s also close to everything in wolfville. They have a restaurant on site (like a 30 second walk from your front door). The food is amazing - their breakfast is wonderful.

I remember this place as an old time motel at the cross roads of Grand Pre and Wolfville. It is a stunner now! Although right off the main road, it is back enough that there was zero road noise. The rooms have all been redone in a very modern and stylist minimalist design. It is down the street from wineries, restaurants, cafe etc but don't miss the Longfellow restaurant on the premises for fabulous meals! The staff were wonderful. Exceptional value and nicer than staying right in Wolfville.

CLOSEDThis spot was a wonderful place to visit over the years. Now it's closed, thanks to rolling lockdowns and the fear perpetuated by bad actors. It would be wonderful if someone with good recipes, good staff and the financial ability to revive the restaurant would step in.
