“I was on a cruise to Halifax. The Art Museum is stop number 10 on the Hop on Hop Off Bus, and it's also about a 20-minute walk on the boardwalk back to the ship. The museum is undergoing construction. There are two sides connected by a lower level walkway. There are 2 floors of art on the north side and 2 floors on the south side. It took me about an hour to go through all 4 sections. I really enjoyed the work by the Dutch artist and the indigenous exhibition called Confluence. But the must-see, in my opinion, was the work of Maud Lewis. Her work is expressive. There is a replica of her home, and it looked like she painted everything in it. It is so beautiful and yet very natural. I didn't see any works from masters such as Van Gogh, Monet, Renoir, etc. And perhaps this wasn't that sort of museum. But I truly enjoyed my visit and would visit again to see Maud Lewis work.”

“From the moment I walked into the store, I was struck by a sense of nostalgia and beauty. It’s truly a hidden gem in the valley. every corner is filled with charm and character. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the owner couldn’t have been nicer. They took the time to show us some of the most unique and beautiful items I’ve seen in a long time.

If you love discovering special places with heart and soul, this store is an absolute must visit. Highly recommended!”

“Wonderful Shop with a stunning array of locally made items. Friendly staff are happy to talk with you and help you out while also knowing when to give you space to quietly look around if you prefer. There is a section of the store where some items are not made locally, but this section is clearly separated so as to not create confusion.
Some items sold include paintings, ceramics, knives (Including Grohmann) , tartans, kitchen items, garden items, Peace by Chocolate, glass decorations, packaged coffee/tea/hot chocolate, books, candles, cards, craft kits and more.”

“A cute, little gift shop that sells locally made art prints, pottery, jewelry and other products. The staff there was very polite and welcoming to visitors, and the space is filled with many interesting goods. It was a 10-15 minutes of browsing well spent, and I'd recommend seeing Made in the Maritimes Artisan Boutique Hydrostone to anybody visiting Halifax!”

“I took in an oval frame and rectangular photograph. The photograph was in bad shape around the edges. The wonderful staff were able to put things together and it looks great.
Have been going to this gallery for framing for almost ten years and they have my customer loyalty.”

“Such a friendly gallery with a great selection of Nova Scotian art! And their prices are reasonable. You can find not just wall art but handmade crafts, jewelry, and even wearables!”

“Great job by local artists with the current show “Elbows Up”!!!! Artists have always recorded history and events and this is a great curated display of just that! Some serious, some with humour. It’s small and powerful! ? which kinda relates to the show beside it that has a theme of “hands” which is cleverly done also.

Thanks artists of Halifax.”

“Nathan took our graduation photos for Dalhousie University, and all I have to say is—this man needs a raise! He is extremely professional, his photography is top-notch, and he truly goes above and beyond in his work. His attitude is fantastic, making the entire experience enjoyable and stress-free. Calnen Studio is lucky to have him! He makes you feel valued as a customer, and his work speaks for itself. Highly recommend!”
