This is sincerely costume jewelry and I hate to post this, but it is hjust the honest truth. I had written a bad review a few months ago regarding a ring that was my grandmothers, which broke less than a year after purchasing. She is passing, and it was difficult but after some back and forth they finally agreed to fix the ring free of cost - which was so lovely I deleted my post!
However, not even a month into having the ring returned to me and once again it has broke.... it was "sent away" for repair and like I said, a couple weeks was all it took for it to break... again... in the same spot. I would honestly save your money, I like the company itself but it is sincerely cheap cheap cheap jewelry!

Go find your forever ring at another store with proper customer service. My son bought his wedding band here and paid for the extra warranty. The two metals on the band separate and the ring is unwearable. He has been married for just over a year and is on his second defective ring. They replaced the first and are now saying he caused the ring to break and will not honour the warranty. The ring is known to break in this way and there are many accounts online. Acting Manager (Assistant "to" the Manager) Heather has no emotional intelligence handling customers needs. It seems it is just the Halifax Shopping Centre Location but buyer beware.

I purchased a bracelet for my partner at a Michael Hill store in Halifax. we went away and I needed to return the bracelet after we got back, however they wouldn’t accept because it was over the 30 day policy by 5 days.This is the first time I’ve bought jewelry from Michael Hill and expected better customer service. The policy wasn’t communicated to me at the time of purchase and I didn’t read up on the fine print on my e-receipt afterwards, which I realize is on me. That said, it’s 5 days beyond, not several months. They wouldn’t even let me exchange.I respect that companies need to protect their interests, but the inflexibility and cold customer service were below expectations. I caution others to be aware of the long list of terms and conditions at purchase - in my experience their customer service wasn’t reasonable. They certainly aren’t in step with other jewellers who I’ve bought from in the past.

Bought a little chain link bracelet here. Had it repaired twice without issue because of the care plan I purchased. Great service as always from the classy woman behind the counter (not in pictures).

Lovely staff and great service, but the jewelry quality is not good. I've had 1 item repaired three times (once because it wasn't done properly the first time) and another item replaced because of a 'defect' - the pearl fell off. Never have I had such issues with jewelry purchased elsewhere. It may be a coincidence that both my pieces from this store are duds, maybe this is why they offer a good 'protection' plan.

After visiting three other jewelers In the mall and not even being acknowledged, I wandered into Michael Hill. I was instantly met with a employee by the name of Ben. He was a pleasure to work with, he was very down to earth, friendly and informative. I will definitely be shopping with ben again.

Poor Customer Service. Received a call to pick up an order on a Friday. Got there the next day (Saturday), only to be told that the order has not arrived! Why waste time to come up when it's not there yet??Attendants were not even willing to look further. No empathy.

I am deeply disappointed and frustrated with the abysmal experience I had with Michael Hill. I purchased an engagement ring from them, but the band was disturbingly thin and when I had it sized, they did a terrible job and the band broke. This is completely unacceptable for a company that claims to provide high-quality jewelry.I cannot express enough how let down I felt with the terrible customer service I received from Michael Hill, especially considering how much money I spent on this ring. My experience with this company was nothing but negative and it's unacceptable that I received such poor quality product and service.I strongly advise anyone considering Michael Hill to be extremely cautious as they are not trustworthy. It's a shame that they do not stand behind their products and do not provide good customer service, especially considering the amount of money they charge for their items. I highly discourage anyone from purchasing from this company as they simply do not deliver on their promises.

I took a $2500 ring in to get engraved and was given a price of $100— the ring was sent away and I received a call a week later saying the price would be $300.

When my mother dropped off her broken necklace for repair, micheal hill told her it would be 2 weeks for return. She have her cell number as well. After 3 weeks, she hasn’t received a call, so I called them. The lady says it came in with a note stating they called us for pick up, which didn’t happen. My mother has not received a phone call nor a voice message. Once we picked it up, it was written on the invoice a fake cell number. It started with 040. Of course they couldn’t get a hold of her. Who in Canada has a area code of 040? I feel this business tried putting the blame on my mother as she supposedly didn’t answer the phone call, which didn’t happen. This business (I feel) isn’t accountable I rather hear them say, they made a mistake and they are sorry. We literally could have been waiting for years without knowing that it was ready. Never shopping at this place again and I will be passing my experience to others as well.

I think it was the attitude of the nice women that were in the store. They made it exciting for me because I was excited to buy my ring, but they were also excited for me.

tried get information about an engagement ring and ended up chatting with an agent in Australia who disconnected me..next agent was also Australian..said company is from there and can't talk to Canadian..?

A friend got some earring and the store forgot to remove the sale price. REFUSED to let it go at that price. Charged full price. Not acceptable! Fought for it but still refused!!!Terrible service!!
