I’ve been a big fan of TD insurance for many years, but recently decided I wanted to drive for Uber and they don’t want anything to do with it. So I got a quote from a different insurance company that surprisingly was hundreds of dollars less than what I was paying a TD. I’ll be moving all of my insurance policies to the new company.
UPDATE: 2 years later I stopped driving Uber and I took my policy back to TD, because my house policyremained there. Just recently I bought a used cargo van to convert to a camper at TD refuses to insure it. For that reason I dropped my rating down to one star and this time I will for sure be going with a different company.

I purchased a new (used) 2022 vehicle, and they took the opportunity to double my annual premium from 870 per year to 1608 per year. My vehicle was a subaru cross trek and is now a large, white Acura SUV. Highway robbery every time you get a new car, or move... even if you're moving to the suburbs, away from the City and your commute gets shorter.

Accident forgiveness is a total scam. Raised rates by over 30% after claim.

I found a way better deal for my automobile insurance and called TD to cancel and they're charging me $64.00 charge to cancel my insurance and also charging me for my next month of insurance even though I won't have coverage. $300.00 charge to a customer you've had for over 10 years for automobile and house insurance and atleast 16 years for banking. Treat your customers better who support your business for years. Just because of the last phone I had I spent 3 hours on the phone to get nowhere and have to call again twice to get the same thing the guy on the phone was supposed to have done. Now this? LOL you are a pathetic company and WE WILL NEVER SUPPORT YOU AGAIN :)

I am extremely disappointed with the service I have received throughout my vehicle claim process, and will be changing insurance companies as soon as possible.
I have spent years with a perfectly clean driving record and a really good insurance rate through TD. I have recommended TD to everyone I knew. A few weeks ago, I was in a multi-vehicle accident (not my fault) where my vehicle was hit and written off. When I contacted TD to file my claim, I was promised a rental vehicle and resolution within a few days. Almost four weeks later, I am still waiting on resolution.
They are currently trying to suggest that I have a “stain” on my front passenger seat worth $130.00 being deducted from my offer. The stain was conveniently “not pictured” during the appraisal and I have sent photos to support my side but they have been denied by TD.
I have had to move forward with purchasing a new vehicle out-of-pocket (as I require one to get me to/from work) and am still waiting on reimbursement from TD.
I will be changing insurance companies as soon as possible.

Customer service has gone from helpful to non-existent. I have a straightforward question on how solar panels will affect my home owner's policy. Impossible to get an answer, human, bot or otherwise. Gave up after 45 minutes. TD seems to be competing with Air Canada to be the most hated company in the country.

My premium went from $1,753 in 2022 to $3,269 in 2024 for the same home, with no claims. I didn’t ask to add or change any coverage. When you call them to challenge their price increase, they keep upselling extra coverage. It's insane.
TD home insurance simply increases as they wish, claiming that inflation, climate change, wildfires, storms, floods—well, everything except alien invasion—are responsible for the increase in the premium.
I went to SquareOne. We’ll see.

Leaving a 5 star review for Ishant, I spoke to him this evening about making changes to my TD policies and he provided top notch customer service. He was very patient in taking the time to explain different scenarios and offers, as well as being very friendly and polite throughout the call.
Dealing with insurance companies can be stressful and frustrating but Ishant made my experience this evening as easy and straight forward as it could be. Hoping he gets some recognition for his quality of service.

Stay away from TD Insurance. They laid a trap to lure customers in and then increase the rate year by year. I started at $780/year in 2015, and 5 years later the rate is over $1,200/year. I use the car for weekend and shopping. I drive around 2,000-2,500 km on an annual basis, and I've never made any claims. The annual rate increase is about 15 percent. Greedy business!Update: I changed insurance coverage last June and have been paying the new rate month by month. This morning I checked my bank account and found TD Insurance has increased the rate payment by 27.83% in May 2021. Again, I've never made any claims. TD Insurance is doing this again by arbitrarily raising rates without notifying customers.

Run run far away, they won’t help you when you need it . Make sure they don’t take advantage of you , because trust me they will try everything in their power to do so. Complaints to managers or supervisors about unacceptable practices won’t get answered . Even after 4 emails , multiple phone calls and voicemails .- how is this not a scam?
