Poorly managed...theres no need for the jewellery counter assistant to be ringing through a line up of customers who are buying a cart load of stuff none of which are jewellery counter items...meanwhile if you need assistance to see an item behind the glass you have to wait 45 min untill they stop playing cashier for non jewellery counter items...no to menion the lineup of customers for the register blocks the entire jewellery counter so you cant see anything anyway...smarten up and make the jewellery counter for purchases from there ONLY and maybe 1-5 items if your buying something from there...otherwise go to the self checkout...Value Village has the greatest ability to increase my blood pressure every time i visit...the lack of common sense in how the place operates is mind blowing!!

Very expensive (2$ IKEA candles go for twice that). everything seems if not broken then missing parts. It is an American for-profit company. There are many wonderful thrift shops in town that support animals, and homeless shelters LOCALLY.... just my 2 cents.

The store near Chain Lake Dr is a large store with a great selection. Selections of pictures and framed prints are GREATLY overpriced. Games are priced well. Very clean, tidy store

value village is anything but a charity. it is for profit and even trades on the stock market (SVV).things i've noticed on my recent visits- staff refuse to help locate items in the store. the jewelry counter is usually unattended even when multiple customers are around the table. staff is hard to find even after adding self checkouts.- they sell used ladies and mens underwear. that should not be allowed.- when it first opened it had a grassroots / for charity feeling. now it is no different from a large pawn shop except you don't get to negotiate the price. it's more like second option for the middle class.- the manager of the store will probably read this review and make a few adjustments but don't expect them to last since the store's daily managers all have different priorities and price points in mind.- good quality bags are priced close to retail. that wasn't always the case, a bag that cost 20 today used to be found for 6 dollars as recently as a year ago. the only bags that are bargain prices reek of mould and mildew (and i'm not picky)- in the cutlery section (in bags) 8 worn silver-plate forks and knives in a bag for $29.99. go see it today - it is a mockery of what the store is being marketed as to the people donating.- there are power outlets all over the store but they are all taped closed. only one small outlet at the far end of the store is free to use and it is usually hard to access bc people leave items they test there because the place they found the item is all the way across the store.- vhs tapes are 1.99 each they used to be 99c and the 4th is free- the used ladies purses are very expensive and the 'treasures' that used to be found (prada, coach, etc) are never there anymore suggesting that employees might be cherry picking them out.- the coupons they give out occasionally only apply to orders up to $50. that's why the overpriced gold jewelry stays overpriced even after the coupon- the staff at the donation center are more friendly than the staff inside the store. maybe it is more important to their jobs outside than inside.- the records not only went up in price but the store cherry picks the best ones now and sells them for a premium in the jewelry section.- there are no refunds only exchanges and even then it only applies to clothes nothing else.- birthday 40% off coupons, 50% special days, even 30% off coupons never happen anymore. the only special is 30% off tuesday for seniors. years ago the store used to have flash sales and it brought in a lot of people but never anymore.- gold jewelry is priced so high most of the items stay in the case for weeks before being bought.

Overall one of the better Value Villages. Really spacious, and love the addition of the self checkouts. Of course the prices are always rising which is really sad to see, especially on the books!

Over priced for stained second hand clothes. No return policy, only exchanges and no change rooms to try on.If you look hard enough can spot a good find tho!

The reason for my 2 star rating is that value village is raising their prices but not increasing the amount that goes to their cause, which is actually a very low percentage. This has become a for profit place where employees are not paid enough. That said, my favorite place to go and get lots of serotonin.

Used to be the best deals. Prices went nuts, but I *think* they are coming back down to 'normal prices' for used clothing that they get for free!!!!!!!

I'm very disappointed that they didn't bring back the ability to try on your clothes before you purchase them. I know during covid that that was probably the right thing to do, but there's no reason to not do it now. And the other part about that, that's not a lot of fun, is on my receipt it said that all I can do is exchange the items that don't fit. I can't get my money back. That doesn't seem like a great policy. So not too sure if I'll come back and shop here or not.

Maybe we hit them on a bad day but it was a sad selection of housewares. Lots of items missing prices and they did a “bait and switch” where they told us a price was a mistake at the cashier and then wanted more. I think they should honour posted prices. We did find a few bargains.

Huge shop with plenty of discounted product. The grandchildren always find something to play with. Its often recycled within a few months as long as its in good working order.

Great selection of used items for cheap prices. Perfect place to scavenge some pvb/electronics for home "engineering entertainment" or to find some furniture/home items in good shape. Or to find some fabric for costumes. Still, your experience can differ from time to time.

We had a quick trip here looking for a specific item which they didn't have. Store is organized and was quite busy. Some clothing prices seem a bit high for used, donated items.
