The girl went in front of me and myself got peep when we went out of the store even though we paid for the garment. It was so embarrassing. There is something wrong with the system. I had to wait half hour for them to fix their problem. What an awful experience.

Yesterday, January 14, we visited the Zara store in Halifax in the evening. We were shopping upstairs for my husband, completed payment, and then came downstairs to look for items for myself.
I went to the fitting room before 8:45 pm (around 8:43 pm), but it was already closed. I politely asked if I could quickly try on one item, explaining it would take less than five minutes, but I was told no. This was disappointing, especially since the store was still open until 9:00 pm and I arrived before 8:45 pm.
After that, I went to stand in line to pay and we picked up a few more dresses. In the line, there was one person returning items at the counter, one customer before us, and one customer after us. Despite this, we waited nearly 15 minutes while staff members and the manager were folding clothes instead of helping customers.
What was most upsetting was the manager’s behavior toward her employee at the counter( there were multiple items to return it seems and he was having hard time)She came over to give a code and very rudely said to the employee, “take this and complete it before you go ” The tone was bossy and disrespectful, and it was uncomfortable to witness. Is this how employees are treated?
Because I wasn’t allowed to try anything on, I ended up purchasing many items, and now I have to take everything home and make another trip back just to return them — what a pain and completely unnecessary.
I understand she was the manager, but there is no excuse for being rude to employees or customers. If customers are lined up, it would be better to help rather than ordering staff around.
For reference, the manager was wearing a white T-shirt. This incident happened between 8:40 pm and 9:00 pm, and can be verified on camera.
I hope Zara management takes this feedback seriously and ensures better treatment of both employees and customers.

Bad customer service!!!! Waiting in a line for a long time and there was just one guy at the counter and no other employees take care of the line. :((

I love Zara and shop there often, but today’s experience was extremely frustrating.
I went to return an item and there were two cashiers: one handling purchases and another handling returns. The person in front of me was returning 10 or more items, and the employee processed them one by one, walking to hang up each piece before continuing with the next.
This caused an unnecessary delay and made everyone in line lose a lot of time. It would have been much more efficient to check all the items first and then hang them up together.
I love the brand, but the return process today was poorly organized and needs improvement.

Omg the Indian Cashier literally sneezed on the jacket i was purchasing, while he was sneezing, literally he used my jacket to cover his face, i don’t understand, is Zara not giving proper training or tell them to use their damn hand, and not someone’s $200 jacket, literally man, this was extremely poor experience, ruined my whole purchase, literally bought a jacket for $200 and the cashier just used my jacket to cover his face, why would you even hire someone like this who doesn’t have a simple common sense and don’t know how to maintain hygiene, in case you want to chevk the camera, i made the purchase on December 6, 2025 at 5:25 pm.

I am extremely disappointed with the customer service I experienced at this Zara location. I purchased a pair of shoes for $100 and had my receipt, yet the manager still treated me with disrespect and acted as if I hadn’t paid for the item. Her attitude was rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. On top of that, communication was very difficult. It was hard to understand her (filipinos), and it made the entire situation even more frustrating. For a major international brand, I expect staff to be properly trained in communication and customer service so issues can be handled smoothly and professionally.
This was not my first time shopping at Zara, and I’ve never experienced something like this before—especially compared to stores in Toronto. I should have checked the reviews before coming in, because this was truly unacceptable.

Zara Halifax was clean and organized, but not one staff member offered help.

If I had an option to give negative ratings , i would have given it to AALTA. Terrible customer service by AALTA so called Manager at the store. LOL . Bought a jacket on October 30th, the price went down by 50$ on November 3rd. Asked for price match, she refused by saying that we don’t price match. You can return it.
I brought the jacket to the store, thn she claimed that we can’t do return because it was worn, which was an absolute lie. She was being a racist. Never worn that jacket because it was a gift for someone’s birthday which is on November 9th.

Absolutely ridiculous experience. Nonsense manager or whatever she is. We bought the jacket just three days ago. brand new, never worn, with the tag and receipt still attached — and the manager had the nerve to claim it was used and smelled. What a complete joke of a policy and attitude. Totally unacceptable customer service. I will never go back to this bloody Store where the management is full of nonsense

I have never ever come to shop here without waiting in long and slow line ups. If only the girls were friendly.. it would help. But they can't even muster up a smile. Very up in the air.....too important for the customers. What a dying shame

Me and my friends went there on October 11, 2025 coming from New Brunswick to shop. While my friend was in line, she was taking something from me, all of a sudden heard this front desk woman at the cashier shouted at my friend “NEXT IN LINE” was so loud the other cashier was literally shocked and secretly laughing.
I dont know whats up with their staff but they sure are rude. It ruined the vibe and experience of going to Zara

The staff are pretty rude. I’m not expecting top-notch service, but a bit of basic politeness and friendliness would go a long way - especially since the service quality is already quite questionable

Bought a plain white t shirt from here for $40 and after one wash and AIR dry, it completely lost its shape. The shoulders stretched so bad that it looks like I’m wearing 3” shoulder pads. Tried to exchange it but they wouldn’t let me because I took the tags off. You would think a plain t shirt that costs $40 would be made of half decent quality.

If I had the option to give a zero rating, I absolutely would. The manager at Zara Halifax, who was working on Sunday, September 28th, 2025, should be fired. My wife and I visited this store, which she typically avoids due to its low-quality, cheaply made items, but she wanted options for an upcoming event. She was uncertain about one of the items, and I suggested she buy it, reassuring her that if she decided to wear something else, she could simply return the Zara item.
Two days later, when we attempted to return the unworn item, we were met with the most appalling rudeness from the aforementioned manager. Her condescending attitude was shocking; it felt like we were criminals. She claimed the tag was incorrect, altered, torn, and insisted they wouldn’t sell an item in that condition. Then, she had the audacity to question whether we had purchased it at that store, looked up the cashier, and even went into the back to “investigate.” When she returned, she asked if we had bought the item, returned it, and then repurchased it! How ridiculous! Who does that?
In her misguided investigation, she concluded that someone else had purchased the item two days prior, returned it, and it was then sold to us by a new staff member. What was most infuriating, was how she made such a scene over a mere tag! We spent around 20 to 30 minutes in the store for something that should have taken 5 minutes or less, the entire experience was utterly ridiculous. As a result, my wife will continue to avoid this store at all costs.
The takeaway here is clear: if you have any doubts about one of their cheaply made items, think twice before buying it, because if you attempt to return it, be prepared to be treated like a criminal!
