If you are coming into cape Breton or leaving Cape Breton. and it's a weekend especially a long weekend fuel up at the Irving instead of here. If you are heading east it is 200 meters past this Petro Can and before if you are heading west. This place can get so busy and with the parking lot and gas bar area being way to small to accommodate the amount of vehicles they get on the weekends especially in the warmer months. If you are pulling a trailer or have an oversized truck (moving truck) please save yourself the headaches and drive the extra 300 meters to the Irving. you will get yourself in a bind at this Petro Can I promise you that you will tear your hair out. The Irving up the road has plenty of room for any sized vehicle to fill up. Tractor trailers have their own fueling stations, a big area to park with showers and a very nice restaurant. There were plans at one time that the petro can would expand their parking and fueling bays but it was all just talk. and with the Tim Hortons being there it's a nightmare. People will fuel up and go into the building to pay and spend up too 30 min inside getting a coffee while you are waiting behind the car waiting to fuel up. So if you are coming out this way on a weekend please save yourself the headache and try and avoid this gas bar.

Firstly, this location has very poor quality of gas, my car runs 8L/100km average fuel economy(6.5-7 on highway), however after I refuel my car in this location, my car runs 8.5L/100km with all highway driving, this is the worst fuel economy on my car.Secondly, the pump #3 didn’t run properly, it didn’t stop automatically and cause about 1 lite gas lack. The manager was very rude and stuck out that it’s all our fault. She first said we didn’t put the nozzle into the car, then she said we didn’t put the nozzle hardly. LOL, I’m not a new driver, and I don’t need this lady to teach me how to use the pump. This lady just said she own this location so she knew that’s not her fault. I think she just didn’t care about her customer. Finally, we feel very disappointed, and we will tell our friends and family members to avoid this location and petro-Canada.

Be aware if you pay at the pump and enter your pin, the attendant may instead authorize payment inside without your knowledge, then call the RCMP on you for not paying because of their mistake.

The young man working here is terribly rude, their bathrooms are always in terrible shape and their pumps never work so they force you to entire the store during a pandemic. Save yourself the hassle and go to the Irving up the street where they are happy to be polite and clean their bathrooms regularly.
