I hate giving bad reviews but I stayed at Lanes Aug 28.the room wasn't very clean. Very disappointed.omg the dust under the bed and the grouting in thd bathroom discusting! Management,,,try giving your rooms a good deep cleaning it's your business to look after to keep it clean for paying guests. I have read the past reviews on cleaning rooms and repairs, looks as if your not doing anything about it (get off your damn cell phones and CLEAN )
Rooms: Clean your floors! All corners . vacuum under the beds, bathrooms,omg when did you cleaned the sink drain holes last ? absolutely no excuse for the dirt I saw. If yu want pictures I have them

The room and hotel was very dated in much needed repairs and renovation. The outside space by the water was beautiful and there are chairs available to enjoy the views and sunsets. The restaurant food and service was good. There is a lot of potential with some vision and love put into the building. I won't plan on returning until then.
Walkability: Walk across the bridge to Liverpool downtown.

Just a few things that need taking care of. Room was clean but mirror in bathroom needs replacing, sink was slow to drain, bathroom floor grout needs to be redone or cleaned as it makes floor look dirty. Otherwise it was great. The staff in the restaurant absolutely lovely, great service always a smile..

This place is a dump.
We booked there for early June and the first thing we noticed after we checked in was the poor state of the walkway and the building in general.
The room was filthy. Dirt in the shower, rest of bathroom and the room.
When I tried to talk to a person at the front desk, nobody answered the phone and the doors to the front desk were locked.
When we left the next morning I went to talk to someone and all the doors to the front desk were locked and nobody was around.
I talked to another person who was checking out at the same time and she said her room was also very dirty.
I would avoid this place.
The lovely pictures online are not accurate and do not show the dirty and dark room that was actually there.

The workers need a lesson on how to clean a room.
Mirror by fridge is dirty with smudges and spots.
Lamps are dusty and even the shades.
Microwave is not clean
Drinking Glasses that are wrapped are dirty with smudges.
Shower curtain is missing rings.
Mold in the corner of shower.
Base boards are filthy and dusty.
Boot try in closet is dirty.
Mat is gross by the door.
The only good thing the bed looks clean.

The good: restaurant food was delicious. Great service in the restaurant. The location is perfect. The shower pressure is excellent.
The bad: the accommodations have declined. It used to be a decent spot to rest. Now it smells, and is dirty. There were dust bunnies under the beds in our room, hair on the bathroom floor, and an empty pop bottle (and glass) from a previous guest in the cabinet under the bathroom sink. The mattresses sink in the middle, which doesn’t make for a good night’s sleep. Also, there is zero warning not to drink the tap water.
The ugly: mould. The air conditioner has not been cleaned for a long while (if ever), and there is mould on it. Under the window, I noticed peeling wallpaper, and underneath, more mould. And the box spring … I can’t really tell what that stain was, but I really don’t want to know.
I understand this place is under new ownership, and is no longer locally owned. It wouldn’t be an issue if the new owner had a higher standard that is more in line with what people want. At the very minimum, this entire place needs a deep cleaning.
There are some pretty bad reviews of this place, and I would have spoken to the desk staff in person, but they don’t show up until 10 AM.

The food and service were great. One hiccup that came out in our favor. I ordered a starter of seafood chowder with haddock and salad for my main. The starter came out no issue and the main came with another cup of chowder. They promptly brought my salad and didn't charge for the extra chowder so my wife got to have a cup to herself. They were out of chow for my wife's fish cakes but that was no worries and we let them know about a local producer that just posted they made a giant batch of chow. Hopefully that can get together and make everyone happy.

Looks like the "Old Girl" is dying a slow death. Seems there are new owners and they just don't care. The staff are very young and seem inexperienced in the business. Just seem to sit on their cell phones. The room was dirty....and I don't use that word lightly.
However we did go to the dining room to have dinner and it was fabulous. The food was excellent and the service super. Looks like the new owners have not infiltrated the dining room; look out if they do.

Les chambres ne sont pas comme les photos. Pas très propre, poussière sur le radiateur. Rien a proximité de marche. Besoin de rénovation majeurs.

Stopped to eat at the restaurant, and the first thing that you notice as you walk past the rest rooms is the odor, which can be smelt in the dining area. I would avoid eating at this place.
