Alyssa's Formals stepped up when Beautiful Bedford did not! Here is my review on Beautiful Bedford and how Alyssa's Formal Stepped up!:
After today, I will never buy, nor recommend, a dress from Beautiful Bedford. My daughter made an appointment for 10:00am Saturday (made over a week ago) at Beautiful Bedford. My daughter received a phone call Friday at 10:15am from a woman getting after her for being late. My daughter said the appointment was for the 9th at 10:00, not the 8th. The woman looked and then acknowledged that she double booked. The next day they refused to take our appointment at 10:00, saying that we missed ours at 9:00... which was simply not true. The woman was very rude to my 17 year old daughter. After I left a review the owner stated they were having tech problems and the associate had been spoken to. THANKFULLY, Alyssa's Fashions were accommodating (even though we had no appointment). They moved things around, got us to share fitting rooms and found a solution that worked for us. Thankfully, there is a happy ending, and 2 girls walked away with 2 beautiful dresses thanks to Alyssa's! Thank you for being so accommodating and understanding. You helped all the girls and we will always recommend your shop!

My daughter and her friend went to try on prom dresses. The staff were incredibly rude. They completely ignored them and rushed them out of the store. Prom dress shopping is supposed to be an amazing fun day and an incredible mile stone in a young woman’s life. I’m assuming the workers were only dismissive of them because they were not accompanied by an adult. Both of these young women are independent and are planning on paying for their own dresses in full. I am appalled by this behaviour because they went to Beautiful earlier in the day (also without an adult) and were treated amazing and like adults. we will NOT be coming back to Alyssa’s and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone and would advise any one thinking of going there to think long and hard about whether or not they’re willing to support a business who treats their main demographic so poorly.

We were in town from Ontario and made an appointment to look at prom dresses for my daughter. She tried on so many beautiful dresses and, thanks to the help of the wonderful staff, found the perfect one!

Highly unrecommended. I had come in from Toronto. Looking for dresses, I am hitting all the spots I can Google. Walking in with my sisters and mother, was abruptly hit with a “do you have an appointment?” With an awful tone. I said “no, but we are looking for bridesmaids dresses” the blonde says “we don’t have that”. I hadn’t even explained what style of dress. Completely brushed off. Walking through, I found a dress I would wear at an art formal or awards ceremony that I really loved. It was only $1000. I found dresses in satin which apparently were “prom” dresses. Great. The girl in blonde walked around staring at us, like we had two heads. At this point, I didn’t want to buy the dress I loved because I didn’t want to give them my business. In Toronto, we have this saying if you plan on “acting” bougie, at least be smart enough to tell if clients have money. Not a good look. I don’t even do Google reviews. That was just sad on their part. Way to drop the ball.

I am an East Coaster shopping local - after working very hard in a high pressure city. I can tell you are making up your response as you started off rude. People trust and invest in me as a professional and being personable. Your “fight back” review responses are unprofessional. My “entitlement” was turned on the second I was greeted-not greeted. The other bad reviews, know exactly what I’m talking about and you only got a bad review given my sister and mother’s previous experience as WELL. Still wanted to give you a chance. Do better.

Not once, but twice I went into this establishment and was met with rudeness and disrespect. The first time I was shopping for my wedding dress, and was completely brushed off, and basically ignored. The second time I visited this establishment was for my sisters bridesmaid dresses. Immediately met with a rude condescending woman saying “we don’t have what you want” even tho we hadn’t even told her what we were looking for. I then found a dress that would have been perfect, and again we were met with hostility and brushed off. It put such a bad taste in my mouth and all I wanted to do was leave. Highly don’t recommend… if I could give this place 0 stars, I would.

I recently had an amazing experience at this bridal shop! From the moment I walked in, the staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive. They took the time to understand my vision and helped me find the perfect dress that made me feel beautiful. The selection was extensive, and I appreciated the personalized service throughout the entire process. I also loved the cozy atmosphere, which made dress shopping feel special and enjoyable. I highly recommend this bridal shop to anyone looking for their dream dress! Five stars all the way!

My daughter had the best experience picking out and purchasing her semi and 3 years later her prom dress at this establishment. The staff was phenomenal and made sure she felt like a princess. Will definitely return for all our family's formal needs!

I took my graduating daughter to Alyssa's on Saturday, prom dress shopping, with great success! She ended up having to order her size in, which they fully measured her for. Her bestie happened to have an appointment at the same time so we stayed for an hour to watch her try on dresses. I watched the staff running around making sure all the girls (it was a packed house) were getting their dresses taken to their fitting rooms, doing up their zippers and corset backs, giving advice and opinions, making everyone feel seen and taken care of. The racks were well organised by colour and size, making it easy to find their preferred dresses. It was such a special experience for the girls (and moms), just wanted to thank the staff for their attention and not making them feel rushed.

Took my senior to Alyssa's Formals in Sackville on Friday past. We flew in from Newfoundland for this milestone occasion. We cannot say enough about how great Alyssa's was. From the moment we walked in the door they made my daughter feel confident, comfortable and beautiful. They had a great range of colours and designs in her size to try and took the time to pin the dresses and tighten straps, etc. They provided her with the assistance and attention needed to find her dream prom dress. Thank you so much Alyssa's formals.

I've been going to Alyssas for over 10 years for ALL my formal dress needs; my grade 9 prom, grade 12 prom AND my wedding! I won't shop ANYWHERE else! They're size range and style selection is amazing and the mother daughter duo that own and run the store are amazing people. They're so kind and positive.
I recommend Alyssas formal to EVERYONE!
As a plus sized person who's always been on the heavy side (even as a teen), theyre size selection and styles have never disappointed! I've always felt welcome and safe in this store.
10/10 recommend Alyssas Formal ❤️
