“I had originally purchased a power loomed rug because it was more affordable. While it was gorgeous, I kept returning to the website to view the hand-knotted rugs. Ultimately, I called Tabrizi to request a return, and they were very accommodating. I ended up purchasing this vintage hand-knotted rug from Iran, and I couldn't be happier. If I can give any of you a word of advice, it would be this: you are better off investing in a true work of craftsmanship that will last you a lifetime than a fossil fuel byproduct that will end up in a landfill in a few years. If your budget can allow it, you won't regret supporting skilled cultural artisans and their local distributers. Thank you, King!”

“I came here a few years ago, and it was such a nice surprise to see the place looking even better this time. They repainted the outside, and it really makes the shop stand out.
It may look small from the outside, but once you step in, there’s so much to see. From cool jewelry and vintage finds to little treasures and handmade items from all over, you never know what you’ll come across. I ended up spending way longer than I planned just looking around.”

“Just popped in here because my mom was interested in purchasing something. Then we were offered to observe a demonstration of how pewter is made. Right in front of us the demonstrator assembled the mold and poured to create sand dollar shape. It was very interesting and definitely made us more interested in purchasing! If you’re in here try to see a demonstration.”

We came in just browsing and ended up buying a knife set and a candle , but the staff was just so helpful not only on what they were selling , but also on advice on places to check out well visiting Nova Scotia. I hope to come back one day just to say hello again .”

“Whenever I take a trip into the city, I always look forward to visiting The Independent Mercantile Co. - It could be at your 1st time visiting for your 20th time, the staff is always happy to greet you and is super friendly, I could definitely spend hours browsing throughout quirky, yet useful products. As someone who has a home bar, I always look forward to seeing the amazing inventory of barware they have, including several types of bitters and sought-after, Luxardo cherries. The contractor staff was super knowledgeable and advised us on everything we needed to get the job done right. He even googled my son’s house made a few suggestions.
