Amos Pewter designs and hand crafts pewter jewellery, home décor, ornaments & tableware in an open studio located in Mahone Bay on the scenic South Shore of Nova Scotia. Our artisans began making pewter designs in 1974 in the vacant boat building shop (circa 1880) that houses the workshop today. Call ahead for a free guided tour or visit our interpretive workshop where our talented artisans demonstrate their craft. Watch as they carefully ladle hot, free-flowing molten pewter from the melting pot and capture it in a spinning mould to cast our products. Once removed from the mould, each piece is carefully hand-finished in a process that ensures excellence in craftsmanship. Take part in our hands-on experience.
Quite a pleasant surprise. Not merely a store, but a shop making the pewter items, demonstrating that process, and explaining it to interested customers. Very large collection of pewter items designed, manufactured, and sold in house. Pleasant staff.

Each of us bought our favorite goods here. The design is very ingenious. Originally, I wanted to buy a small cat-shaped photo clip. But I found that dogs, monkeys, frogs and lizards of the same sequence had facial features, but cats did not. Finally, I bought a lobster claw-shaped keychain.
