I visited the River Gallery on a trip from Toronto and found the atmosphere in the gallery very serene and to my liking. Everything was in place and organized so that I could take in products one at a time to enjoy them and appreciate their value. This is definitely a destination in Pictou, Nova Scotia.

A fantastic gallery filled with some amazing art by gallery owner Vivianne LaRiviere as well as other local artists. Plus there's always other surprising things there as well like locally made soap, chocolate, and books. Well worth a visit!

The River Gallery transcends the confines of what we imagine a gallery to be. It is a feel-good space to be a guest in, immersed in Vivianne's creativity, wisdom, and hospitality. It is somehow different every time I set my foot in: full of music, artistic surprises, colour, and ample space to explore with all the senses. And if you want to discover some nice body care products or to-die-for chocolate, the River Gallery should be your destination.

What a wonderful place with a great vibe. I am a big fan of SASWE, a line of all natural body products made with a base of sage and sweetgrass that are exclusively sold at this location, and fills the space with a divine aroma. My daughter says the SASWE lipbalm is the best she has ever tried. Beautiful and contemplative artwork and photography (featured on the cards) along with gorgeous pieces crafted by local artisans. A great spot to buy locally made gifts. Highly recommend!

Vivienne hosted a poetry reading for me in her lovely gallery. I love the warm vibrant colours in the gallery. She showcases not only her unique products and lively art but also gives local and not so local craftspeople and artisans a place to sell their wares. Viv has kindly given my poetry books publicity and a place to sell. Her friendliness to customers is a highlight of a visit. If you are in Pictou make a point of dropping in....you won't be disappointed.
