This place is all kinds of special. The vision behind this inn is amazing and I hope it continues to grow adding to the experience. ? Definitely worth a visit, learning the history of the place and how it came to be, and staying in one of the trains. Food was great as well in the dining car ?️, and café ☕.
Noteworthy details: A very unique experience.

Very unfortunate experience. Brought our 6 year old and 3 month old to enjoy the train car dining experience and felt ignored, 3 tables sat after us were served, eaten and gone before we got our food after an hour. Asked how well a steak should be done 25 minutes after ordering it, waited 30 minutes to pay. The train was cool but service was disappointing

They have two places to eat here. One is in the train car and the other is on the end of the shop. They have rooms in a train car which would be a once in a lifetime experience. They have a wonderful shop filled with things from everywhere and any time period. I go there for things from my childhood. The people are great as well. A definite put on your list of places to go
Food & drinks: I went to the food in the train car and it was so delicious ? my son had macaroni and cheese and I had fish ... It was so good and also slightly fancy

Had a very nice meal in the rail car. Great service and a good selection of entrees.
Walkability: Right in the village. And a wonderful walking trail right beside the station

Our boys love trains so we were very excited to take the kids here for the night. We stayed in Cabose Carole and it was incredible. Not only was it spotless but the use of space was excellent. The 3 boys spent so much time climbing into the lookout seat and pretending to drive the train. It was a struggle to decide who was going to sleep in the cute bunkie! The beds were cozy and comfy. Unfortunately it was raining and cold the day we were there but we will be back to enjoy the campfire, kids play area and the cute bar. We could definitely see how this place would be incredibly fun during peak summer.
Kids thought the gift shop was wonderful!
Thank you! We will definitely be back!

As a train aficionado I had to partake in a caboose stay here in Tatamagouche. Have spent plenty of nights in overnight cars in Europe, VIA and Amtrak, but never in a caboose! Somehow I think the guys working for the railroad never had it as good as a stay at the Train Station Inn.
I'm thankful for people who take the initiative to preserve history like these rail cars and station. Kudos!
Check-in was fast and friendly. And I was amazed with the station - nice little shop and cafe.
The caboose was quite comfortable and even with the extreme September heat into the 30s we were fortunate (and thankful) for the air conditioning.
For a small town we found plenty in the area and a bit beyond - probably should have stayed an extra couple of days!

Super cool train car inn!The owners have taken these old train cabooses and renovated the insides so it's a cool east coast, cottage vibe inside. There's a common area train car with boardgames that's attached to the restaurant we also went to and had some delicious food (kinda pricey, but it's an experience). There's also a little Cafe in the actual train station (which is the original station) with a whole bunch of train memorabilia, and a little shop with gifts and such, a bunch of nerdy stuff for sale in there too which was cool. Super small town, lots of shops with mostly home decor. There's a brewery which is pretty cool, and a chocolate shop which is also fun! All in all, great experience.Rooms: Old train cars that are really well renovated on the insidemFood & drinks: The restaurant is a whole experience, you have to reserve, but we literally just reserved 30min ahead of time and they fit us in. We went in the off season, (September) though, so it might be busier during the summer.

Every once in a while, there's a place where you just HAVE TO stay. The Train Station Inn happened to be that place.Although the rooms were very clean, the bed was comfortable, and the service was great - you're really going for the experience that you can't get at anywhere else. It was just fun walking around the grounds looking at all the Railway cars, and the railroad paraphernalia. It was just fun going to sleep in a train caboose, and hopefully something I get to do again. Do yourself a favour, and stop in here.Food & drinks: The dining car was another wonderful experience. The food was tasty and the service was great.Noteworthy details: Fun.
