Completely unprofessional and rude.Absolutely incompetent and unable run a business properly. I gave him 1 star only because zero wasn't an option.Took my plow truck there to have transmission fixed. After "fixing what was wrong" and using "heavy duty parts for plowing" the truck did exactly the same thing it was brought it for. Suddenly it had a "bad computer" and needed replaced. Got it back and drove it approx 2600 miles before parking it in April, for the off-season (6 months). Pulled it back out in November, drove it less than 3000 miles and quit working completely. 5,563 miles total on the "rebuild", but 45 days past the 12 month warranty. He said he would "work with me". Had my truck for 33 days without starting on it. As soon as I told him I was going to talk to an attorney he told me to take the truck out of his shop and rattled off his "attorneys" number, which is no doubt his hillbilly cousin, and hung up on me. I took it to Jim's and Sons Transmission Specialists (fantastic shop) had it repaired and back to me in 4 days. While being repaired at Jim's, I was informed that it did not have any "heavy duty parts for plowing", it was a standard rebuild and parts of it were installed improperly.I just filed a suit against him.He doesn't have a leg to stand on.Service: Transmission

This establishment of a “business” is far from what anyone should have to go through. The owner of the shop “repaired” my transmission and claims he built it up. Within 5 months it was back in his shop and since it was warranty work he took almost 5 weeks to get the truck back to me. After picking up my truck from him I now have 5 more issues because of his work. Check engine light, leaking fluids and other electrical issues with my truck. He is very unprofessional as he has blocked my number due to me calling about the issues that he created. Highly recommend not going to this transmission shop unless you want to see this guy in small claims.Service: Transmission

We were very happy with our service we received at America’s Transmission. We have used them for two different vehicles and felt very comfortable and trusted Rich. Cost was very reasonable. Rich tried to get both vehicles in and done as quick as possible too.

Sold us a transmission that had problems and would not back it with less than 10,000 miles. We had the transmission put in last April then drove the car till November put it away for the Winter got the car back out of storage in April and drove it for a month started having problems. We brought the car back to him he had it for over a month to look at. He said the warranty was up nothing he could do come get your car! No trust or loyalty there! I do not recommended this company

was quoted 1200 to rebuild the transmission on my tahoe.from rich the owner. bill came out to be over 1900 dollars. the truck was covered with grease on the dash and console area. you would of thought rich would of cleaned to return it in the same condition as i left it with him. dont understand what they were doing inside of the tahoe. the interior dome light was left on which caused the battery to be totally drained. i have to replace the battery. the radio knob was missing which i told rich i needed to have him replaced. i got a quote for it and he would not paid me in person( like i am the one not being honest) wanted me to mail him an invoice which i did. still have not received the 24 dollars for the radio knob. called him and just gave me excuses. do not take your vehicle to america"s transmission at 899 moe dr. akron ohio. he just wants to take your money and not replace things that he did to the vehicle while it was with him. we are only talking 24.00 dollars

i didnt have the experice with rich as the other person. he quoted me 1200 dollars to fix the transmission on my truck. bill ended up being over 1900 dollars. a good repair person would of told me the difference in cost or tell me it would of been cheaper to buy a trans that was already rebuilt the interior light in the truck was left on and drained the battery to such a point that i had to buy a new battery for the truck the interior dash and console was coated in grease and dirt. you would of thought he would of clean that up to return the truck in the shape i took it to him also my radio knobs were missing. i told him about it and he said to get an invoice and he would pay for it. that was two months ago. we are only talking about 24 dollars. again it was there when i left the truck with him. take your transmission work somewhere else

When I was quoted nearly five grand for a re-built transmission installation, I nearly choked. Luckily, I have friends with greasy knuckles who know a thing or twelve and steered me over to Akron and Rich at America's Transmissions. He took the truck out for a spin, called me to tell me what the possible problems might be and started working. What the first guy wanted more than anything was to sell me a five grand transmission. What Rich wanted was to do the right thing and fix the dang truck. So? Broken wire. Couple other bad parts. No re-build. No new transmission. And I save somewhere very, very close to FOUR THOUSAND DOLLARS. I don't know what your bank account looks like, but I don't typically have four grand sitting around to hand over to a guy who would really just like to have it in HIS wallet, rather than mine. Tiny little shop, but boy howdy I can't say enough good things about these folks. He even re-scheduled another customer's "any time is okay" repairs to get my work truck back on the road. I'll be telling this "Four Thousand Dollar" story for decades to come. "Education is the transmission of civilization." -- Will Durant
