The manager Angela Nelson was very unpleasant! When picking up the rental, I expressed to her reservation was made for work and needed a receipt. I was told couldn’t get one and would have to go to email. Doesn’t work as my job needs a physical receipt for reimbursement. I then expressed I wouldn’t rent from them again and from there it went downhill. This location is not somewhere I’d rent from. They don’t care about customer service.

Pretty passive aggressive staff.Will use any other rental company.Per day rental here isn’t worth the experience in exchange for money.

Horrible rental experience. The car met none of our expectations for the reserved vehicle, and stank heavily of smoke, the smell of which was covered up by the windows, being open on the car in the lot when we approached it. When we returned the car 30 minutes later because of these issues, Avis refused to give us a full refund and charged us for an entire days use. The alternate cars we were offered had the same problems with performance and documentation. We will never use Avis again.

Lied to me about my car return time. I had to change my pick up location to the 259 W Market St Akron, OH 44303 location and they said “1200” as a return time. The paperwork I received stated the same thing. A 1200 return time to Akron canton airport. A lady came out and said “they charged you extra, can you bring it back to this location?”. I said “of course”, not knowing she changed the time to 1000 without telling me. When I tried to return it she tried telling me my paperwork said a 100 return time, which I would have known if she had given me the new paperwork. She knew what she was doing. I also didn’t receive my safety deposit back even though I returned the car with a full tank of gas and without damage. I should have trusted the reviews for this place. Please never rent from here.

*** edit***Avis nationally has refunded my $$ after investigating the case that this location operates Thenardier style skimming of customers money with extra charges without merit.Don’t condemn all of Avis for this location. I will still still recommend boycotting this particular location because all of their communications were rude, lies, and an overall terrible experience. They would have kept the exorbitant inappropriate cleaning fee had I not fought, with evidence, with an incredible number of emails and complaints.Avis lost a 20 year customer permanently because of how this location treated me this week. They stole $250 from me by saying they had to do excessive cleaning. I returned a nearly clean car which needed a mild vacuum. I have rented hundreds of cars and never been charged a cleaning fee because I don't return filthy cars. $250 is the cost of detailing a car. It is theft to charge that for a car as clean as the one I dropped off. The manager hung up on me when I asked for the name of the owner to issue my complaint. When I talked to Avis nationally they said they couldn't help because it was locally franchised. When I asked to see the photos of the car, Avis refused to send them (but said they were "evidence" of the dirty car.) I have NEVER been treated so poorly by a car rental place. I will never use Avis again. Unethical. Liars. Thieves this location. They have ruined it for a company that has always been my go to for car rentals. Never again.

If your name is Michelle and you work the Avis counter at CAK airport I think it’s time to find a new job or one that you actually enjoy.. I sat there for over 30 minutes listening to you be rude and unpleasant to anyone who came to your counter. I know you made my experience miserable. My issue was something you couldn’t fix, and for that I understand. But the way you went about explaining things to me and how you treated me was extremely unprofessional. No helpful advice was given, you just made me feel like I was a waste of your time and that I was stupid.

Will never come here again. Enterprise is a way better rental spot and way cheaper. I was charged over $1100.00 in misc fees and I didn't even smoke in the vehicle. Thanks god I don't smoke it would of been $1500.00 I live in Akron I don't have a extra $1100.00 to give away

I wouldn't give them any stars if I could.Rented a car for ONE DAY, for $106.Dropped the car off the next day, and then was charged $456 for some odd reason!Was told I would get my $200 deposit back, after returning car with a full tank of gas.Never received it! Don't waste your time, go elsewhere with your hard earned money.

They just GAVE my car away without calling or emailing me in advance. I showed her my phone records and there was NO evidence of the contact. I asked for SOMETHING to somehow make this right and she just started yelling at me that she had "evidence" that she called me.It would have been NO problem for me to just pick up my car elsewhere if that would have just let me know.
