We recently built a new custom home, and had to choose everything: paint colors, cabinet design, furniture, countertops, flooring, plumbing fixtures, etc. We knew we needed help from an interior designer, and we chose Hazel Tree and Karen Starr after hearing Karen speak about balancing great design with sustainability.Karen and her team are top notch designers who are also really fun and creative to work with. They knew what questions to ask to help us articulate our needs and the style we wanted. They have a cadre of excellent local furniture makers and artisans to work with who are creative without breaking the bank. They helped us with the big picture layout as well as the tiniest of details. Karen has an incredible eye for color and style, so everything in our home blends together beautifully.We are thrilled with the result. It is our style, it is beautiful, and it feels like home. Thank you, Karen and Hazel Tree!

Hazel Tree Interiors did an amazing job on framing some of my favorite and sentimental prints; there are so many options of frames to choose from. Love looking around to see all the unique artwork and always look forward to returning. Steve does a great job assisting you with the process. Sweet small business!

I wish I could give them more than 5 stars. Karen and Sophie were professional, gracious and most of all TALENTED. We left our house for 3 weeks and when we returned it was like walking into a new home. We had suffered a terrible tragedy and did not have the mindset or energy to re-decorate a house. With Hazel Tree Design Studio they took care of it for us. Funny thing was everything they picked out, or suggested were not anything we would have even considered. If we would have decorated our own house it would have been tan and well tan! Our house is now bright, cheery and most of all...US! It is now a home. I would highly recommend Karen and her team. Thank you for bringing some "light" into our home and hearts.

Working with Karen, Chelsea and Jon on my condo remodel has been such a joy that I keep thinking of additional ideas/projects to keep them involved! For instance, Chelsea is doing a design presentation soon to bring plant life into our condo based on the type of lighting in each room. Karen really listened to what I wanted to accomplish and brought it to reality. I love all the local artist pieces I now have in our home.

I signed a contract with Hazel Tree to help me purchase furniture and do interior decorating for my new home. Unfortunately, they completely disregarded my budget requests and repeatedly brought me options that were well above my original budget discussed when they took the project. Further, they authorized vendors to do work on my behalf that I did not authorize or even know to expect and passed the fees along to me. They told me it would easier to have my furniture delivered to them and then have it all delivered to me once it all arrived. They neglected to tell me that I would be paying for delivery twice (once to them and once to my home) and I would be required to pay storage fees for the entire time my furniture sat unused in storage. They also authorized custom doors to be purchased on my behalf, when I did not approve or sign and invoice, paid the vendor directly and then expected me to pay them. I would highly recommend you stay away from this company. They have no respect for your budget and will find ways to charge you hidden fees.

Hazel Tree Interiors js located in the old Norka Futon building just a few blocks away from downtown Akron. They not only offer interior design and framing services but their showroom is always filled with unique artwork and furnishings from local artists. I've visited their showroom a few times and each time I'm amazed at their beautiful merchandise on display. The owners of Hazel Tree are fun and friendly. They will always welcome you with a smile. I recommend this place if you are shopping for somebody who has everything or just looking for a gift for yourself that is one-of-a-kind.
