We recently adopted a Belgian malinois and anyone who knows this breed knows they can be high strung and intimidating. Upon walking in, the presence of the vet techs welcoming her made her feel calm and right at home. We truly had such a positive experience. We feel so fortunate Dr. Jacobson is right in our neighborhood and will be our vet for our dog. Extremely knowledgeable and kind. All the staff were friendly and patient. If you live in Akron or the area, I highly recommend! Also, I noticed people noting the costs. This is the by far most affordable vet I’ve been to in the Akron area. The $65 “fee” simply gets applied to your services/deducted from the cost of your visit (if that clears up anyone’s confusion). Again, nothing but positive things to say! Thanks for taking such great care of our dog (and likely our cats in the future)!

We decided to transfer our pet care to Highland Square Vet because it’s conveniently located near our home. When I made the initial appointment, the receptionist assured me that they would contact our previous vet to obtain our cat’s records so they could administer the necessary vaccines and treatments.
However, upon our arrival, we were placed in a general waiting room with dogs, and our cat was understandably panicking. I had to request to be moved to an exam room. After waiting 45 minutes past our scheduled appointment time, we finally saw the vet.
To our dismay, the vet informed us that they didn’t have our cat’s records. They proceeded to administer an updated rabies vaccine and requested a stool sample. We paid for the services and left the clinic.
Later that afternoon, the vet contacted us to inform us that they had forgotten to charge for the fecal exam and asked if we still wanted it completed. I declined, as I was already quite frustrated with the unprofessional and disorganized nature of the office.
Three weeks later, they called to “check” on the vaccine they had administered. They informed me that they had finally obtained our cat’s records from our previous vet and that he needed an additional shot. Unfortunately, this meant exposing him to the stressful environment of the clinic again and incurring the cost of another visit.

We had an outside cat with a facial injury that had to be seen at once. They were able to give us an appointment on a Saturday morning. Dr. Andray and all of the staff were amazing. They handled the spicy ginger boy with care and he is now sitting in a crate pouting. They helped us take care of him so that he will live a longer better life.

They were really nice and got me in quick! The prices were solid and not expensive. I actually ended up here because my current vet in Fairlawn was bought out by another doctor and became a rip off price/service wise so I was very happy to find Highland plus it’s closer to my place downtown.

Wow, it must be exhausting being their Public Relations person…they’ve gone downhill and continue to do so, at the sake of our beloveds. Do NOT recommend!

We asked for a copy of the policy yesterday after they tried to bill us twice for the same care. Care that with our other 2 pets was MUCH less and not double charged either. Now they say they have to double charge if not an annual visit...we were just there 3 weeks ago with same pet paid the annual checkup cost, and they charged us again. Their staff ignored us, for an hour. Left to take our pet home, came back to pay what was right, just not the double charge. Still said it was due. We didn't have to pay right then they said. Still ignored request for policy copy to explain their "policy ". Refused. Emailed us today said we are no longer welcome there, even though we were beyond calm, patient, but stood our ground. They tried to get us to purchase extra and unnecessary medications just to make money. Since new ownership, this vet has been more about money, cramming multiple appts like a human dr office, and not about what really matters, care, and concerns of pet owners. So keep your bill receipts, and KNOW and NO you DO NOT have to pay day of. Our kitten is very questionable right now with cough issue and heart murmur, and THIS is how they treat someone when we noticed they were double charging us. They don't give a crap about your pet. As you can see from other low reviews, it's all about money for them. They lie, ignore, brush off, and rip us all off. We are calling appropriate people to have them looked into. Looking back to yesterday'l, I should have made a scene.

I just wanted to say whoever was answering the phones this morning was very sweet and kind. It was much appreciated as we were in a panic about our cat. Thank you!

I was referred here by Stow Vet clinic. I am a mom of 3 and wanted an estimate of cost just so I can see what I would need to bring to pay for the visit. My cat is healthy and fine but simply sprained her hind leg. They charge 60$ JUST for being a new client. That isn’t even including the price for seeing the pet. I asked her what the initial cost of just the visit would be not including tests and she would not tell me. I asked her how they determine a visit price as I’m sure plenty people bring cats and what they charge for a sitting fee for a cat should be the same for all sitting fees for cats. I asked to speak to her supervisor And she put me on hold and then told me that I can’t speak to her supervisor and then she continue to put words in my mouth And try to say that she told me that all would have to pay was 60 but that was not true. That is not what she said at all. Untrustworthy right off the rip.

I cannot overstate how thankful I am for Highland Vet Clinic and it's staff. We have a kitty who is going through FIP treatment and needed bloodwork and other vets in the area refused to see us- one even berated us! Not Highland. They welcomed us with open arms and have been so thorough and good with our Bobby. They are definitely our regular vet from now on!
