Drove over an hour to come see a car that was advertised as clean and unproblematic. Found it sitting on 9 year old tires in a puddle of oil. A nice waste of a few hours.

DO NOT BUY!!Stephan sold me a 2012 Subaru Forester. We specifically asked him if this car had a check engine light on and he assured me it did not. Driving less than 60 miles... boom it comes on. It is obvious they just cleared the check engine light before they sold it, which anyone can do with a cheap piece of hardware. They have offered us no help and have left us with a big bill to pay on the car.I really wish I would’ve read the reviews of Macrocar Sales before I bought. If I can save one person the heartache and hassle of buying a car from here by writing this review, then it’s worth it.TL:DR Learn from my mistake and don’t let these untrustworthy people steal your hard earned money.

My experience at Macrocar Sales was a first time car buyers worst nightmare. I’m a young, working mother of two young children. I saved up my hard earned money to buy a reliable vehicle for this winter. I never bought a vehicle for full ownership and this was a big dream of mine, a step closer towards me being an independent person. I came to these people with good business. I’m not a mechanic, but I was honest and straight forward and I asked them for their help in getting me a reliable car. I have to be prepared for the winter. My children and I have to be able to get around. I had $4,000 saved for a car. That’s more than a down payment. These guys decided to sell me a lemon car for $4,000 on October 9th, instead of steering me in the right direction and being real and honest enough to point me to a better vehicle and talk to me about payment options. The car has already overheated on me. I took it to a shop, the head gasket needs to be worked on, there’s an evap. Leak, and other problems. The mechanic said there’s no point in getting anything else fixed until the head gasket is fixed because that will only put a band aid on a bomb ready to explode. Guess how much a head gasket goes for?… I got estimates for $2,000 minimum. The mechanic gave me two options… Either fix the head gasket or just buy another engine. Both options cost thousands. The car has been sitting outside for the last week or two. I bought the car with 106,778 miles on it, it’s at 107,169 miles now. I barely moved it this month. It hasn’t even been one whole month since I’ve had this vehicle from Macrocar Sales located at 13844 Cleveland Ave, NW and I can’t drive it for 15 minutes before the thermostat hits HOT. What was so hard about showing me a reliable vehicle when I arrived to look at your inventory Stefan Alavanja? I asked about your inventory and was shown a beat up car parked right next to the one you sold me, out of all the cars on your lot. I was not shown anything else. Was it the price difference? If I come to you with $4,000 in cash, what would make you think I can’t come back to you with more money for a good vehicle that would truly serve my family well? The only thing I can think of is that you are in it for the money, not out of love for what you do. If you loved the car game you would believe in your products and service so much that you actually provide high quality vehicles guaranteed or you would work with your unsatisfied client(s) to help them with the car issues. I came back to you with my partner who was with me this entire experience and all you men argued. I didn’t get to say anything. You kept saying to me that my partner messed up us finding a solution and you weren’t willing to help me. In reality, you never planned on helping me in the first place. That argument made it easier for you to turn your back on me, your client. I get it, you and your team members need to eat too somehow, but being willing to sell bad inventory is not okay. That’s how your business runs to the ground quickly. You treat your clients good, they come back to you with more business, more money. Macrocar Sales treated me with bad intentions and dishonesty from the start. Every time when you all get in your warm, cozy vehicles think of me struggling trying to figure out how I am going to get to a grocery store to feed my family. The worst part about this is you knew you were selling me a bad car. You left your evap plugs in the car that you used to test the car with. You knew the car needed work and you still put it on your lot and made it able to work long enough for a client to drive it off your lot. I would have loved to buy a good vehicle from you. I was so proud to be buying and owning my car for the first time and you really ruined that for me and my children. I’ve been crying here and there cause this really hurt me, but God got me and I’ll figure things out. Fix your cars before you sell them. You did me dirty and I believe I’m not the first you’ve done this to and you are willing to keep doing the same to others. Do better.

I went and looked at a 07 forester today, has atleast 3500$ worth of work that needs done, such as ball joints, a clutch, tires need replaced, and the famous boxer engine knock etc. Wants 4500 for it and the man told me it will sell since its tax time. I hope no one falls for the unreliable trap that this car is going to bring. Very dishonest. It does not drive great or run great.

Lying, sleezy dealership. Sell junk that they claim to have been inspected with "no issues" and in "perfect running order". Problem after problem once it leaves the lot. Stay far away from these people. Buyer beware!!

If there was a zero or negative star that is what we would rate this very dishonest auto dealer. They do not disclose mechanical issues with the vehicles they are pawning off to unsuspecting people. They hide behind the sold as-is piece of paper that comes with the exchange of money. No one should be buying a vehicle from this place!!!!Our son recently purchased a vehicle from this place and it is essentially a lemon from the moment he drove off the lot and they are non-responsive to requests for return/refund.One would hope that people and businesses would be trustworthy and want more than just money from their customers or prospective customers but this dealership’s actions demonstrate they have no desire to be trusted and therefore I repeat no one should patron this dealership ever again!!!

The car I bought from them broke down not even 20 miles after purchasing. No help from them and now I'm being ignored. Don't trust any positive reviews you see, it's not worth it.
