Been paying for extended membership, haven't been there in a while. Changed healthcare providers. Membership should have been canceled. I showed up the day before membership renews to ensure it's canceled and I was told that they'll be charging regardless if I canceled before being charged, because "they're a franchise and can do what they want" is literally what I was told. Was nothing but friendly; when asking them why, she said "you have to cancel a week before we charge you or we'll charge you anyway" which literally makes no sense. I'm sorry but this is a private franchise; you don't sell physical goods. My healthcare provider switched, I showed up to cancel to double confirm, and YOU'RE STILL going to charge me then refuse to pay me back? She said I will have a full month to keep using the gym, and they'll be charging me regardless if I told them not to. She claimed to be the highest manager, too, meaning she is literally robbing me. So ... I wasn't charged yet, I canceled weeks before by ending my healthcare coverage, then double-canceled before being charged, and I'm being told you're charging me regardless for a product that only gets used if I choose to walk into a door and sit down on a piece of equipment, and you can't stop charging me in advance nor refund me for something I haven't received yet? This woman is a thief; I've heard more convincing arguments from street panhandlers. She's a liar, and she wants to steal money. Yes, you can stop payments in advance esp. when the healthcare ended weeks prior and the double-confirm was made day(s) before being charged, and the service is a monthly access. Yes, you can reach in the register, refund $15 and end the monthly access. You're a lying thief and it's disgusting considering people with healthcare services paying for part of their membership are usually financially struggling, and you absolutely enjoyed knowing you could rob me and make up every excuse. You better believe I'm taking it up with the bank about your blatant theft, already called them in advance about your blatant intent on robbing me.

Decided to join a gym with more benefits and amenities. You think you’re getting a sweet deal til you’re hit with a hidden fee. Even though you asked about bonus/extra fees before sign up. Very deceptive. Atlease with the new gym they told me everything I’ll be charged for.

This is not directed at this location but I'm sure it goes for all the Planet Fitness locations. As I sit here once again on the Morning after a holiday I watch 20 cars sitting in the par parking lot waiting for you to open. I have seen numerous bad reviews about this and hope this makes it to a regional. Clearly they are not listening or communicating with their customers if there is 20 cars sitting in the parking lot and 10 to 20 more pulling in and back out. 6:00 does not work for a lot of your customers and maybe you should look into that.

I just joined PF's Hawkins Plaza location in Akron, OH. Hattie was so helpful, courteous and friendly in getting me signed up! She answered all my numerous questions. I've worked in HR my whole career and always notice exceptional service! Well done!!!!

Great selection of equipment. Staff are wonderful and accommodating. Make sure you get the Black Card membership and use the benefits.

I love planet fitness because it is clean, there is plenty of exercise equipment for everyone to use, and it is in close proximity to my house.

I went to this planet fitness location the other day and the facility was very clean and well maintained! The locker room area was very nice and their fluorescent mirrors make your photos look great! It was not too crowded which I liked- I went around 4:15pm. However, there was quiet a bit of of cardio equipment out of order which caused me to have to be on equipment directly next to someone else and which is why I am giving them 4 stars. The treadmills were very hard on my knees as I was running, there was very little bounce to them. Other than the equipment being out of order- this location is clean, easily accessible, and not too crowded!

I felt so welcome and surprisingly I did not feel judged by anyone, employee or member. It was clean and all the machines have instructions on how to use and which muscles that particular machine worked on.

I have never joined a gym before so all this is new to me. The staff is friendly, the place is clean and the other members just do thier own thing. Exactly what I was looking for.

I needed to change my membership to a new location in my own town. I called first on the phone and talked to a young girl named AJ. She also waited on me at the Hawkins location. I just wanted to let the facility know that this girl was phenomenal!She not only went the second mile to help me, but was just a pleasure to be around. She helped me and answered all of my questions and acted happy to do so. In todays world it is not always easy to find someone who really tries to help you out. She never acted like it was “just her job”. I believe in “Credit where credit is due.” AJ is an asset to your facility!Kudos to you AJ!
