I took my vehicle to have the transmission looked at. When I went to pick it up a person handed me the key and said here you go. They did not offer any information. I had asked him if I could ask questions. He did not seem to want to talk to me and offered no advice. Things were moved in the glove box and compartments. I am missing a $20 bill, all of the loose silver change, and Chapstick (ewww). Do not reccomend.

Took care there for an uncertain issue. Found out it was only a wheel bearing. They fixed it and had it ready to go the next day. Price was reasonable for the work involved.

Called them about fixing my k3500 transmission and they said they don't work on trucks. I thought they went out of business.

AMAZING. THE BEST. THE BOMB-DIGGITY. Over the past 10+ years, I've taken 3 different vehicles here under suspicion of a transmission fault. Only 1 ended up needing a new transmission (and they did a fantastic job) while the other two mimicked the signs and even showed the codes indicative of tran issues. Kevin and his team were able to rule out a failing transmission and fix the issues at an extremely reasonable price. I currently have my truck in there, which I was terrified would need a new tran and be a devastating blow to me financially (Even my mechanic was sure it was the tran). Instead, it was another issue that cost a mere fraction of what I was prepared to dole out. Kevin is a dang honest man. He could've easily made some extra money off me, multiple times, but told the truth instead. I can't say enough about Kevin and crew. You never have to worry about paying for things you don't need, a wrong diagnosis or general shiesty-ness. GO HERE. I'm naming my next dog Kevin.

My father suggested Richard's when my transmission was debilitated by running over something. I was never disappointed. I was called with every minor update and he was so patient with me when my insurance adjuster failed to do his job and I had to call daily. This shop is excellent and flexible and I cannot praise them enough for all they did. It took a month to get my vehicle back but it wasn't due to them but an incompetent adjuster and the staff spent all their time working with the insurance to ensure my car left in top shape. I will certainly return if I ever need to and recommend them to anyone. Transmission work isn't cheap and don't expect it to be. Per previous reviews degrading the shop because of that, you get what you pay for here and that is all that matters.

They darn fix it err time. BEST all around car mechanic shop in Akron. Well worth your time and money if your wallets an bit tight as they usually are a cheaper shop than most.

I ended up at Richard's when I was already tearing my hair out about a weird noise that nobody could figure out on my F150. They stuck with it and finally figured out that it was the actuator, whatever that is. I mean it's a round piece of metal that looks like every other round piece of metal. Richard's has a free diagnostic which is nice on a good day but on a bad day, which is what I was having every day with this thing, a free diagnostic is really lifesaving. I was at the point of despair when I came to this garage and the only reason I ended up there was I had been told that the noise might be the transfer case and nobody wanted to deal with it. I asked my friend if he knew anybody who did transmission work and he told me about Richard's but they do everything, not just transmissions. Turns out the noise had nothing to do with the transmission. But it's nice to take your car somewhere where even if something goes wrong with the transmission it's not the end of the world. I didn't think there were any honest mechanics left in the world. This place is not only hands down the best mechanic ever, but it's one of the best businesses in the area in terms of honesty, courtesy, attention to detail, and perseverance.Service: Auto engine diagnostic
