I called, left multiple messages and emailed on multiple occasion for child care and still haven’t received a response back. I would hate to send my child to this organization and not be able to get a response when it’s an emergency. So thank you for showing me before I started doing business with your company.

I love the J but I am so unimpressed with the membership system. I have been trying to cancel my membership for literally 11 months, while my emails go unanswered and I continue to be charged every month. If I ever get out of this membership I’m never renewing it. Nice facility but seems like they are more concerned with taking my money than they are in customer service.

I used to love this place but now I won't even bother thinking about going here! The new manager is such a creep. Never taking my family here again, also the hot tub is always broken.

This is specifically about the pool, particularly the outdoor pool open the summertime. I do not make use of gym facilities or other programs there, but I'm sure they are fine.The pool itself is okay, but could do with better filtration and maintenance. The water is often not as clean as it should be. When I say "should be" I'm not speaking scientifically or based off of any tests, just by its clarity and the amount of things (bandaids, etc.) on the bottom.The male lifeguards are annoying and are why I'm giving this a three-star rating. They tend to be arrogant and reluctantly helpful if asked questions while they lounge in their shack. I don't know who was in charge of hiring them but presumably they could find some teenagers who are more polite and respectful to older people than these are. (Most (not all) of the female lifeguards have been polite and friendly but it is the male lifeguards who tend to be not as respectful or helpful.) Somebody should remind them that this is a club that people pay a membership fee to belong to and not a taxpayer-funded public pool. I know lifeguards have to enforce safety rules when sitting in the chair and on duty but these children should be more respectful when speaking to their elders when asked a question while they are simply lounging in their lifeguard shack. If this was an isolated incident I would not write this review. Of the only 6 or so times (over the past month and a half) I have *bothered* them in their little shack with legitimate, brief, yes/no questions (in other words, I'm not some pest with long questions that's constantly bugging them) they have behaved rudely most of them.

A safe, clean, friendly environment. A great place for swimming lessons for the kiddos. The staff takes their time and shows a lot of patience with timid swimmers. Highly recommend.

I’ve been sending my son to Shaw JCC to their early childhood program for over a year now. He started when he was 1. The staff really cares about the kids here. The school is always clean and constantly doing fun activities with the kids. They use a private app to keep parents up to date each day with photos, daily notes and general information. It’s extremely useful and I adore when they post pictures of my kiddo on it.

You have to make a 24 hour appointment for daycare! I feel that now very helpful for parents that are busy in life!

For the best community center in the entire Akron metro, choose the Shaw JCC of Akron. Fitness, swimming pools, enrichment classes, child care, Summer/Winter camp, and much more. This is the place you and your family will have endless memories.
