Extremely dishonest company. I would give them 0 stars if possible. Policy was paid for by my escrow company. I then received notification of nonpayment and policy cancelation. Jumped through several hoops included AMIG telling me that my escrow company never paid the policy. When I reached out to escrow, they were not only able to confirm that the payment was sent to AMIG, but also provide confirmation of when exactly the check was deposited by AMIG as well as a copy of the actual check that cleared their account per their bank.
When I reached back out to AMIG with my insurance broker and escrow agent on copy, AMIG asked for a policy number, which my broker confirmed. They also request proof of payment, which we provided....that was back in mid August. I have followed up with them 5 times and still have yet to receive a response. It's crazy that they went so far as to state they were never paid when proof of payment was provided in less than 5 hours and yet I still haven't heard anything from them. Do not take your business here. My money is missing and these clowns are quiet. If you read through other reviews you will see that I am not the only person who this has happened to.
I just followed up with my broker who is also trying to get a response. Per my broker "I have been reaching out American Modern Insurance for updates and have been struggling to get a hold of someone. I am reaching out to them again today."

Well I have had homeowners with this piece of crap company for three years, I filed a claim back in April 2024, they have not finalized the claim, paid out a dime or nothing, but they just sent me a non renewal letter! What a bunch o bull crap!!!

This company is an absolute scam. We have tried to speak to someone multiple times with holding for literally 6 to 7 hours just to be hung up on. No matter what time of day we call we are at least 10 to 20th in the queue line. They never call back even with hold in place options. Even the customer service line has a queue for the number they left on other policy holders reviews on google itself! Going to go to the Better Business Bureau because they need to investigate.

Do not waste your time with this company. You can send them money and they will let the check sit around for as long as they want. You will get the run around from customer service. If it’s this hard to pay them I can’t imagine how hard it is to work with them when you need help on the coverage. Call someone else for your insurance needs.

This place doesn’t even deserve a piece of start for review, we had a water leak behind our wall that we had no idea about until our floor collapsed and they denied us saying its wear and tear but how are we supposed to no it was leaking behind the wall??? We have 3 small children with a broke through floor and now we have to spend hundreds if not thousands of dollars we don’t have just to fix it ourselves… we pay all this money every month/year just to get denied for something so small, DO NOT GET THIS INSURANCE THEY ARE UNRELIABLE AND NOT TRUSTED

This company is owned by Munich Reinsurance.
Shame on them. They are better than this.
Total mismanagement. Very surprised they would own such a despicable company. Absolutely brutal claims handling.

We pay insurance to find out we don’t have coverage for a water line leak. Go figure. What do we pay insurance for. It is a scam. I don’t recommend this company. I had to give them a 1 just so I could write a review. They send you an email wanting a review before you find out you are not covered.

100% would recommend. My premium is a little higher than the competition but I wont go elsewhere. I have had AMIG for 9 years. I had a large water damage claim totaling 10k, Water damage again because something hit my home in a storm and damaged siding, the roof and more that we didn't discover it until there was a leak inside, a 3k theft claim and two roof replacements due to hail damage. My last roof replacement was 13k only 7 months ago. These reviews are honestly shocking to me because I have had no issues with claims or payments. They are quick to help and very responsive.

I would not give this place one star even. Do yourself a favor and get another insurance company as soon as possible. These people want your insurance payment and then when you need to file a claim they don't wanna pay they are a scamming joke of a company. I had wind damage on my roof shingles. And they denied the claim even though I have that covered in my policy. If you have an insurance company that you pay your payments so things can be fixed if something happens or whatever happens, and you gotta battle with them to get a claim covered then that is a terrible place to take your business. I repeat. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Find a good insurance company cause this company isn't worth your time or money

As I can see with other reviews, it is common for this company to not call back their customers. I’ve been waiting to hear from Catherine for a month to get the restorations on my house fixed. I reached out to her manager and got not answers, so I went a step further and went to the next manager and now I’m also not getting a hold of him as well. This is poor poor customer service.
