Is an illegal puppy mill that charges a ton of money for infested dogs. Do not buy from them.

You think that purse dog you "adopted" is a rescue? Think again. Since 1981, this "rescue" has been purchasing puppies from local puppy mills and selling them as if they are rescues... How could this be ignored by the community for so long? Their public tax records show that between 2019 and 2021 they have wrongfully spent over $10,000 of donated funds on puppies. Stop supporting ARF and contact the Department of Agriculture (registration,) the Clermont County Dog Warden (animal wellfare,) and the Ohio Attorney General's office (abuse of non-profit status). START REPORTING WHAT YOU SEE OR THIS WILL CONTINUE.

Honestly wouldnt even give them one star but i had to leave something in order to write a review..I’m absolutely disgusted by ARF and their workers. We went to meet her in a Saturday, they told us she had to go to the vet Tuesday and she wouldn’t be able to be adopted out until after that. We asked if we could put a deposit down or an application in and was told they do not put a hold on any animal (yet their was a dog there that was “pending”) and they wouldn’t allow us to put an application in. Mind you, she would've been going to a quiet home, no kids, my mom stays home. She told us to call Tuesday, which we did and they said she was still at the vet and to call Wednesday. I called Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and was told every day she wasn’t available yet. On Friday I called and got an extremely rude lady and after she told me the she wasn’t available yet, I said that I was aware but had a question and it was if we should we keep waiting for her or starting looking elsewhere. She told me to start looking elsewhere!!! I asked why and she said, because I don’t know when she will be available. BUT, she was listed available the entire time on Facebook. I also left Peggy 3 messages requesting her to call me, never heard back. Even if they’re volunteers, their behavior is unacceptable. I will NEVER go to this rescue again. So I now understand their numerous 1 star reviews. I feel bad for the animals there, because with people like that running the place, they’ll be there longer than they should be.

Absolutely disgusted by this rescue and wouldn’t even give them 1 star. They were extremely rude and boy did we get the run around. We went over on a Saturday to meet a particular dog. She’d been listed on Facebook numerous as available, but when we got there, they told us that she can’t go yet because she has a vet appointment on Tuesday to get a lump checked and could be adopted out until after that. We asked if we could put a deposit down or an application in and was told they do not put a hold on any animal (yet their was a dog there that was “pending”) and they wouldn’t allow us to put in application in. Mind you, she wouldve been going to a quiet home, no kids, my mom stays home. She told us to call Tuesday, which we did and they said she was still at the vet and to call Wednesday. I called Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and was told every day she wasn’t available yet. On Friday I called and got an extremely rude and very short lady and after she told me the she wasn’t available yet, I said that I’m aware but have a question. Should we keep waiting for her or starting looking elsewhere. She told me to start looking elsewhere…. I asked why and she said, because I don’t know when she’ll be available. This is a wonderful place. They are informative and helpful when trying to place animals. They helped me with getting a stray cat spayed and placing her kittens. Upon arrival the facility is big with separate outside areas for the animals. It was well kept and the dogs looked healthy in their kennels. Inside the staff was helpful and it was almost spotless for the amount of animals. While there I was able to walk through the kennel and grooming area which both looked and smelled sanitized. Again dogs and cats appeared to be well taken care. This is a non-profit organization and one I'm sure is very busy. So with any business they have their off days but I was there twice and talked with them several times on the phone. I can't complain and I'm extremely thankful for their help.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. I called previously to set up an appointment to meet this 7 year old chihuahua Gomez. I was told the adoption age is 18 and I am well over that age. When I walked in, both of the employees were on their cellphones and completely ignored me for a good 5 minutes. I stood there smiling and excited to meet little Gomez. I own a home, a fenced in backyard, my fiancé works from home (so little Gomez wouldn’t ever be alone), I have no other dogs, and I am a vet tech so all his health care needs would be taken care of. After they finally got off their phone, I asked if I could meet Gomez and let them know I called prior asking for him. They pointed to a small little pop-up crate with another chihuahua in it. They didn’t ask if I wanted to get him out to meet him until I asked if I could play with him in. one of their meet and greet pens. After playing with him for a while, I told them I would like to start the adoption process. She turned around to the other woman then tells me “Gomez needs to be in a senior home”. I asked what she meant by that, and she told me that I can’t take him home because I am not old enough. She said that he needs an elderly person because he was mistreated in his previous home. She told me this AFTER I told her what my living and work situation was like. She told me I can’t adopt any dog because I’m too young. They were not only very rude and hostile, but talked to me as if I were a child. This is very upsetting to me as someone who works with animals and rescues around Cincinnati. I don’t know how they expect their dogs or cats to be adopted out all because I am judged on how young I am, when in reality I am not. This was very discouraging, especially knowing how good I could’ve taken care of him. Very sad and very disrespectful. DO BETTER FOR THESE ANIMALS.

Most are 1 star reviews, I should’ve known not to come. They don’t want these dogs to have a home. Not friendly at all. Overall worst animal shelter you can go to, you’ll regret it. Came up there when I spoke to them multiple times on the phone & didn’t hear one thing about how I would need something written out from them stating we can have dogs at our apartment. Our officer manager said he doesn’t do written papers but they could call the office & speak with him. They said that’s not good enough and they’d have to see our lease. So we drive all the way back home to get our lease & it simply states on there no animals (reptiles, birds, etc.) nothing about cats & dogs, and they took it & ran with it that we couldn’t have Animals. So then the lease wasn’t good enough when it clearly said there’s pet deposits when having a pet, etc. So they again want something written in paper from our landlord, anyone under the sun can write a letter saying we allow pets & that to them is more credible than a lease that clearly states that only realities are not aloud. These lady’s are miserable with there life, I’m not sure why we didn’t look at the reviews before we can because we wouldn’t of came. Obviously will never be back & these dogs will never have homes because of the lady’s that run this place.

I am very disappointed in ARF I got my dog Scotty from there a couple months ago and he isn’t sick but I’m thankful for that but it is very unacceptable for people to sell sick animals without telling them first I am very disgusted and me and my cousin thought about volunteering there this summer but I think I’ve change my mind I will never step foot in that property again someone needs to stop them we need to get the ASPCA involved
